I can use G55 more than 3 hours every day. Display can be dark or bright enough with manual brightness.

Anonymous, 17 Apr 2025The G35's screen is probably similar to the G53's... moreThe G35 actually has a fhd+ screen with a peak brightness of 1000 nits , just like the g55 , yet the screens are completely different in reality .
Well at least the two I've had were.

I have a G75, which has the same screen as the G55, and it's hard to use at night. I would prefer a screen with a lower resolution and more comfortable like the G53. The G75's screen is very good during the day, but at night I believe it can damage my vision because of the brightness.

I'm currently using a g35 as I couldn't use the g55 for more than a few minutes (red tint BTW) , however the g35 screen is lovely and one of the friendliest screens l've seen in a very long time .
I must stress if anyone's thinking about buying the g35 though , buy the 8gb version as the 4gb seems to be unusable .

Maybe manually select 60hz/120hz on the display refresh rate option & not make it auto.

However I'm scared of Amoled after quite a few health incidents with me and my family while using them.

Might sound fancy, but that's how I feel. Played with a Galaxy A06 at the mall, which has a really good LCD screen... I just couldn't... It is what it is.... Transition to OLED is like going from floppy-disk to DVD.

Not a bad phone for the right price, but after 1 and half month use I can tell you that I don't like that it's big. I mean this thing is as big as a S25 Ultra (with no need for that). Secondly, the screen sucks. As LCD, it floods you with light at night, while during the day you can barely see shit. Security patched with March 1st and running Android 15. Camera is decent, no lag. I've charged it with original Google 33W charger and with a Kill-o-watt device I've measured it pull 26-28W from the grid. It doesn't bother me. What does, is that the battery info says it has completely 18 full charging cycles (🤔 even if set at a 1 full charge/week) and that the battery is already at 97% capacity. Those are weird af numbers since I've only got the phone about 7 weeks ago and it charges to 80 (actually 81) % and never from under 20%. The 2 things that seriously bother me are size and screen. I might end up with an S25 after all or even an iphone.

Anonymous, 15 Mar 2025This device gives me harsher headaches than an oled phone, ... moreTell me about it, I've had to buy a realme c75 (4g) in desperation which is underpowered and slow (especially the touchscreen which drags when scrolling ) but at least I can run it over with a car or drop it in the toilet without worrying and more importantly it doesn't give me a headache (hurrah).

Bob, 18 Mar 2025I agree nearly all modern lcd's are causing me issues ... moreJust set no natural tones , and extra dark and voila...eye irritation is gone.
Some like just like to complain just because they don't have anything else to do....

Dashiqee, 17 Mar 2025I wonder what is causing this new wave of eye irritation in... moreI agree nearly all modern lcd's are causing me issues too.
I think they must be using a different type of backlight technology (probably not even tested for human safety ) so it can reach this magic 1000nits brightness.
What I have noticed is (too me that is) the whites are more glaring no matter what brighness, almost like I'm seeing something more than should be displayed (feels hot on my face as well) .
Perhaps the new led's they use have some kind of light spectrum outside what they normally test for , but some of us pick up on it (like a dog whistle).

Dashiqee, 17 Mar 2025I wonder what is causing this new wave of eye irritation in... moreIt can be caused by screen protector, bad text rendering like too small text, wrong brightness - too low or too high, white temperature is far from 6500k. I don't have any problem with display of this phone.

Anonymous, 15 Mar 2025This device gives me harsher headaches than an oled phone, ... moreI wonder what is causing this new wave of eye irritation in the new lcd phones that are being released. I see so many comments on YT & online forums of people being troubled by these new lcds. Something must have changed in lcd tech for sure, as it doesn't seem to be 100% safe anymore . But what?????

This device gives me harsher headaches than an oled phone, which is weird since I've read somewhere that LCD devices were safe to buy for people with PWM sensitivity.
Doesn't even have anti flickering mode...it's the second phone in a row I have to return, this sucks

Software Fix can see Android 15 update V1UT35H.61-21, but not OTA updater. Software Fix will delete all settings and it will take hours to restore.

This phone is so good at around 165€. It takes decent photos, has lots of storage, a good selfie camera, is speedy, no hiccups, charges fast, has clear call sound, a clean OS (more customizable than Pixel's!), a notch✅ and mine just got Android 15 too. I don't get how I could justify spending 3x-5x this amount for a Pixel or 5x-10x for a Samsung. I only wish it were 10mm shorter and a couple narrower. It would have been "compact of the century". Hope Moto takes notice. Ah and the OLED, but let's be honest, I don't actually mind anything 😊.
