G55 5G doesn't have Gorilla Glass 5 - it's 3.
Screen is LTPS IPS as it's the highest quality one you can buy on market alongside G75 5G. It's even HDR10 certified and is not on G75 5G for some reason :/. However, Motorola doesn't list that, but YouTube HDR10 works.
Average brightness is ~870 cd/m² with peak at ~960. Contrast is ~2400:1, sRGB covers 100%, and no PWM screen flickering.

Hi, in Italy there are g55 at 180€, g75 at 190€ and poco x6 at 230€.
I am not interested on wireless charging and right now i have a g32 with ips. I dont care about photo or video. I like moto and its stock software and I really like the possibility to have 5 major updates. I would prefer 3.5 jack but not so necessary. I want 5g and at least 30w charging.
Any opinion should be very apreciated.

Moto g55 Connoisseur, 09 Dec 2024I haven't had any performance issues so far, but hones... moreThanks for the detailed answer. I am very glad to see a tech-savvy person here. In fact, I have been buying a g75 for 2 weeks now and generally happy with it. The screen turned out to be too bright for me, even with the dimming function (it just makes the screen darker here). The phone works 100% for $250. The price difference with the g55 in my region is not big, but the 5-year support, interesting processor and a couple more features made me choose the 75th model. At first, I was really considering the 55th model, because the 75th was not officially available in the country yet and no one had given any specific dates. It so happened that when the 55th was supposed to be delivered, the 75th went on sale that same day for $35 more. The phone does not feel completely solid in your hand, but it is more likely just a matter of habit after the iPhone XR (yeah i know the price difference on the beginning haha). Overall, the G75 is a decent option if you’re seeking durability, mid-range performance, and a good camera for daytime shots. The camera obviously cannot do its job in low light. I haven't dealt with Motorolas for a long time, my last phone was a Z2 Force, but because of the flickering I had to look for a phone with IPS. It's a pity that manufacturers don't make flagships with a screen that doesn't burn your eyes anymore, in any case, even if you are very sensitive to screen flickering, it has a negative effect on your eyes and brain in general, causing headaches and nausea, dry eyes and irritation. Manufacturers are only concerned about how to reduce the cost price of goods and get more net profit. Who knows, maybe Moto will remain one of the few who will make phones with a eye-friendly screens, decent OS and average characteristics.

I'm convinced this phone could handle system blur/translucent backgrounds and AI processing stuff like the edge series just fine, or is this is too far fetched to think about? The moto g54 has full fledged Moto AI in beta, but somehow this phone doesn't?

smallpp, 03 Dec 2024what can you say about strange GPU installed in this phone?... moreI haven't had any performance issues so far, but honestly I'm not a hardcore gamer to tell this kinda stuff on detail. The games I've tried like Asphalt 8 in performance mode runs great, and emulators like M64zplus (playing oot on rice accurate with texture packs) and DraStic are smooth with absolutely no lag or noticeable heating issues to my surprise, but I never play more than 20 minutes because I get bored easily with these kind of games. The only reason I installed a bunch of emulators and apps is because I'm not used to have this much storage.
The game I play the most however is Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Complete lol, on the weekend I had over 10 hours of continuous playing time and I'm surprised the battery didn't die. Sadly I can't access app folders anymore (I believe this is an Android 14 limitation) so not sure how I'm gonna backup all my acpc progress If I lost my phone
This phone handles multitasking very nice even with games in the background (just keep in mind the games I play). The gameplay never restarts over again when I switch back and forth over multiple apps or even have musicolet, secret folder apps opened, and large file uploads in the background. I don't know if this is normal on every 8Gig ram phone nowdays and I'm just embarrassing myself but like I said before I come from a very low end phone so multitasking with lots of apps doing stuff in the background and even floating apps (like Firefox) and PiP over games without performance issues/lag/frozen screen or reboots is like luxury to me. Honestly I'm hapy I picked this phone over the g75. Forgot to mention in my other comment, the system camera app doesn't have any lag or performance issues either (I just wish the autoexposure was better, sigh)
People said turning on virtual RAM would made the performance worse but I have it on default and I haven't had any issues so far, even with games the device RAM it's always at 50-70max so the virtual ram is not even on use. Not to even mention the phone does most of this in 120Hz. Hopefully is not gonna be ruined with future updates though I can easily see myself with the moto g55 for a long time
I also installed dolphin emulator but I haven't found any roms yet, if I do I will update my feedback to share how it handles more demanding games. If I had to guess, I think it's not gonna be good at all, and this is where the Moto g75 with snapdragon will shine (it has to, right?)
I tried other emulators from the playstore but since citra was shut down I dont trust these other apks that are floating around
Motorola has also this smart connect feature for streaming your apps to your monitors and I wanna try to play M64zplus on my tv roku next
I'm a yapper sorry 😞
