I made a drastic mistake with my review earlier today and am just dropping by to correct it. I thought at the time that the Moto G82 charger was defective because the port at the back of it was too loose whereby the cable detached itself, but this is not the case at all.

I had assumed that the port was a USB-C, but of course it's a USB 2.0 port. I don't know why I didn't check that, but in any event, there's nothing wrong with the charger and it works just fine.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused here,

I bought a Moto G82 last Monday from Amazon Germany for €154,00. But because I live in the Netherlands where the VAT rate is 21% (in Germany it's only 19%) I had to pay a couple of euros extra. No big deal. Delivery charge by the way is €14,95.

The phone is actually sold by an Amazon Marketplace reseller called CarbonPhone and was sent the same day and arrived on my doorstep within 24 hours. The carrier they use is UPS. So far so good.

But the 33W charger only has one port on the back to insert a USB-C connector into. So unless you have a cable with the same connector at both ends you can't use that charger to charge the phone with. I went out the same evening and bought such a cable, but when inserting into the port on the back of the charger it just falls out again. Even though the cable supplied with the phone only has one USB-C connector I tried inserting that into the port, but the same thing happened again. So it looks like the charger is defective. Could this be the reason why the phone is cheaper at this Marketplace reseller? I left them a complaint note on the Amazon.de site, but haven't received a response yet.

What I did next though was to use my old 10W Samsung charger to charge it with which took just under 4 hours to bring it to 100% charge. I hope there won't be anymore unpleasent surprises.

Hi, I'm actually Moto G82 basically since the release, (maybe I have it since July). Do you think will it have android 14 update? I want to keep it as long as possible.

Had my g82 for nearly 12 months now. Have standard clear protection case only. No screen protector.
Dropped many times without issue until this week. Don't remember dropping it especially hard, but now have v small chip (pinhead size or less) in centre of screen, with a. Rack running from it across whole width 🙄
Can't really feel it, but am putting on screen protector now to stop the crack spreading. Just been quoted £90 in UK to have screen replaced.
Had many phones, and only e two get damaged screen. Last one value £250, thought I'd claim on home insurance...yes, we can let you claim on that, they said. £150 excess to pay, and your premiums will probably go up by about £50/year for the next 3 years.
Surprisingly, I didn't bother. Just bought another

got, 22 Sep 2023I dropped a Samsung onto tarmac and it only damaged the cor... moreIt was a fall from bike while it was already at a speed of around 15-16 km/h, onto concrete. This is definitely more brutal than just falling from rest onto concrete. With such fall, any phone is destined to get substantial damage. What I said was i was surprised that only lower part of my screen got shattered whereas with Samsung i think not just screen would have got damaged. Have seen my friends carry their Samsung flagships with broken screens even after simple fall from rest. Samsung is a great phone but definitely scores poorly on build quality. Nokia tops and I am glad Motorola proved to come close to that.

engineblock, 18 Sep 2023So unfortunately today my beloved g82 fell of my bike holde... moreI dropped a Samsung onto tarmac and it only damaged the corner of the frame, slightly. The screen wasn't damaged or marked at all. It has got to the stage where I don't even use any type of screen protector. I keep my phones in the same pocket as my coins and the screens have never been damaged or scratched.
What you are really saying is Corning glass is rubbish........

So unfortunately today my beloved g82 fell of my bike holder while riding book. Despite the brutal fall, only lower part of display got cracks (unlike some Samsungs where a medium fal intensity is enough to wreck entire screen). Motorola customer service send me shipment label to send the device for repair (still need to wait for cost estimate and will decide if it makes sense or not).

Anyhow after Nokia, i can say Motorola is perhaps the sturdiest of the phones in mid rangers. Very impressed with build and construction.
