Motorola Moto G82 in for review

Yordan, 27 November 2022

The Moto G82 debuted earlier this year with a 6.6” OLED display and a 50MP camera with OIS as its highlights. The phone is a key mid-range device for its maker across the globe and now that we finally got a unit we can see if it should make your shopping shortlist.

The Moto G82 shares a lot of design cues Moto G52 and Moto G62. These three phones have very similar camera setups too, but the Moto G82 is the only one to offer OIS.

Under the hood we have a Snapdragon 695 platform, which is 5G-enabled. Our unit has 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, although some markets also get an 8GB RAM version.

The White Lily color on our unit has a dotted pattern around the Moto logo, which is a cool addition, and we got a clear plastic protective case in the box that still lets you see it while providing some protection.

The OLED display promises 100% DCI-P3 gamut coverage and 120Hz refresh rate. However, there's no in-display fingerprint scanner as Motorola decided to put the fingerprint scanner on the side, embedded in the power key.

On the upside the Moto G82 has a 3.5mm audio jack and a microSD slot as an edge against its competitors.

The Moto G82 (8/128 GB) is usually INR23,999 in India, while the 6/128 GB version is around €330 in Europe. We will establish if it's a bargain at either of those price points when we are done with the tests. Stay tuned!
