Motorola Moto G (2023)

Another Motorola disappointment. It seems Motorola is intent on downgrading it's entire G series this year. Snapdragon 480?! They should have just kept the Mediatek Dimension 700 from last year. It was better. They took away the depth camera. Also, going down from a 13 megapixel front camera to an 8 megapixel camera. They increased the refresh rate to 120 hertz from 90 hertz and the maximum charging speed from 10 watts to 15, but there is no charger in the box anymore! So overall, this is a downgrade.

Doesn't look like much of an upgrade from the 2022 Moto G 5G. But I do like it that they did upgrade the processer from Mediatek to a Snapdragon. I do wish they would at least give the camera 4k 30 fps or at least 1080p 60 fps.

Nice phone but the update policy is so bad for that alone I won't even consider a Moto.
If you don't care about updating this is a fine basic phone.

720p is perfectly fine. I have it on my Redmi 10C and have no complains about it. Also, 4Gb is good as well, considering the lower resolution, you won't need more than that. The only real problem is the Snapdragon 480+ that sucks. Even then, it could be justified if this device was closer to $100, but for a bit over $200, it's bad.

Do you guys think this phone will run a 64-bit OS? The 2023 moto G play has a 64-bit CPU but it runs a 32-bit OS due to memory limitations (that's my guess). I've heard that Samsung puts 64-bit software on their 4GB RAM devices but idk about Motorola.

Aaaaaand it's trash. They somehow made it even worse than last year. Why can't Motorola just let 720p go already? It looks fine on 5" phones but on a 6.5" display it's awful (typing this on a moto G pure lol). I was hoping that I wouldn't have to buy the Power 5G (the GPU is weird and probably has poor support) but I guess that's my only option. If this thing is more than $200 USD I'm gonna scream.
But hey, a Qualcomm chip and barely faster charging! I guess it's not a complete screw up.

SD 480+?
I sleep.
(I wouldn't say it's terrible, it's okay enough for a budget phone, but still.)
