Kiwi Browser was working at first, but now it seems broken, and Firefox seems like it doesn't go to any websites at all. My two main go-to browsers have extensions. I don't think I had these issues on my Ace.

Maybe in certain cases, like when on something like Netflix, but I'm not sure about when the screen is idle. Also, I'm not sure if it's just me, but when I use the headset at a high volume, the sound can distort.

Anonymous, 13 Oct 2024I am in US and have the same Motorola phone you had. It see... moreHere's my update, almost two months later.
The eco-leather design and quality cameras are nice. Though I'm now using a clear protective case and a screen protector, perhaps it doesn't matter much to me.
I think the Dimensity 7020 is still a little faster, smoother, and more efficient, albeit slightly, but not negligibly. My Motorola One 5G Ace may have slowed down over the years since I first started using it in late April 2021. I don't miss the overprocessed 4K video recordings, as I used my Ace's camera far fewer times and between many days, and maybe even weeks, at a time.
The Power's video recordings seem much better in this regard, especially without as much focus hunting when it's dark, I suppose.
I don't take many selfies, so I don't have much info on that.
The photography seems to me much improved, and I'm fine with it. I can use the UW for better macro images, but I hardly ever take macros. It has a dedicated QR code scanner tile in Quick Settings.
The Ace's downward speaker sounded punchier and with oomph, but the Power's dual speakers sound a little clearer, less bassy, perhaps more trebly by default, though I have Dolby Atmos enabled (now at Bass Boost) rather than Smart Audio. I also use an app called "Music Volume EQ - Equalizer" by Dub Studio Productions to enhance the sound. I paired TWS i12; good Bluetooth.
The screen is more or less the same. I don't think the lack of HDR10 makes any non-negligible difference. I recommend setting the colors to natural with Night Light enabled. It makes the screen less blue to me. It also has a color slider (not enabled at the same time as Night Light, one or the other). The screen's 120Hz refresh rate is nice and has auto to dial down most of the time. It has floating windows and a sidebar. There's a minor inconvenience when switching only one app from split. It has an extra dim tile in Quick Settings.
The side fingerprint is easier to use and reach for me, but it doesn't seem to scroll notifications like the Ace. Minor.
Secure Folder, disabled animations when entering PIN, lock network and security PIN pad scramble, network protection, phishing detection, security scan, theft protection, remote lock, offline device lock, confirm SIM deletion, and ThinkShield.
The phone stays cool most of the time and only heats up a lot in more extreme situations. I would not recommend using Lucky Patcher on any app from the Play Store. Personal anecdote: I tried to patch ads in Music Speed Changer from the Play Store, and now it says the Play Store version no longer works on my phone. Lucky Patcher didn't install the app. I had to use Aptoide Dev. As for the download times, I haven't really measured the differences, but it seems to download within a reasonable time frame. I use Metro.
No dual-band GPS, it seems. Negligible to me.
Btw, I've been using AdGuard for a long time, even way before I had this phone. I have blocked an average of ≈ 11.3 GB (714 GB total: 4.7 M ads and ≈ 297 K trackers as of Oct 30) per day for the past 63 days on the Power, not even having it on all the time. No major slowdowns that I know of, except when using some websites and apps. The firewall also works well.
I don't play many FPS games on it. I can tell the 120 Hz difference in Geometry Dash. I just discovered Moto Games, I think.
A few things. I've noticed the phone might occasionally turn off as I'm using it, or the wallpaper goes black. Also, the Power's headphone port seems to not work with two of my headsets, even though it works with my other one. One was working, then it stopped working. Occasionally, the Google Gboard stops working in some parts of the keyboard. There might be a few other occasional things.
The RAM allows an extension of up to 4 GB from the ROM if you have the extra storage available.
The Android version is 14, but I am expecting only one update.
It has wireless charging. The only reason I advocate for this is that I have had budget phones where their charging ports messed up, causing major inconvenience.
At this time, I don't have access to a 30W charger to test it. I think I recall enabling a setting that slows down your charging speed until you wake up in the morning or so, or I think it learns your habits.
To me, the Power is worth the upgrade, especially since my Ace has severely slowed down due to many of my attachments on it. It's a way to start fresh a bit.
It was a little stuttery at first, not much eventually after a day.

Anonymous, 01 Sep 2024My Moto G Power (2024) comes with the FM Radio app. I live ... moreI am in US and have the same Motorola phone you had. It seems to be getting a little long in the tooth. However when I compare it to all the Motorola phones out there I don't see much more improvement. I require separate memory card and a 3.5 Jack. Which the Moto g power has. I don't know why they did not increase the internal memory. 128 same as I have now. And when I googled it did a comparison between the two processors it seemed they were pretty equal. Why are you saying yours is so much smoother and faster. I do a lot of downloading and according to the comparison the one ace 5G is 37% faster on downloading that the Moto g power 2024. Are you finding that to be true?
My phone has been like a workhorse. And I'd like to get a new one because I'm on Android 11. Does the Moto g have 14. And are they going to give an upgrade to 15 and maybe even more? The price to get one's only like $139. But even that I'm not sure of it it's much of an upgrade over what I have now. Tell me what you're finding. Thank you very much

Henry, 22 Aug 2024Lost the FM radio. My Moto G Power (2024) comes with the FM Radio app. I live in the US. Compared to my previous One 5G Ace, this phone is truly a breath of fresh air. First MediaTek phone I think. Very smooth. Full of security features.

I just received my moto g power on June 15... Cricket upgrade less than $100.00 (U.S). It is a fast 5G, the camera is decent and YES it has FM Radio (must be enabled). Motorola has this phone for $299.99 on it's website. With the voice assist and Goggle Drive disabled and a huge sd card, it has become a very stable device without cloud storage. I download all pics to my pc with 10 Terabytes of storage. Wireless charging is slow but nonexistent in a ZIZO Transform case. It has a metal plate in it blocking the charger.
I like this phone.
