Read a lot and then try your hand on them.
Just to let you know - if you want ot install Gcam (hacked) - you need to root your device and thus void your warranty...

Moto X series never had always on display. It had something called Moto Display which will trun on screen to show notificatoins on the locks screen.
Yes that option is still there..

Better stay with stock apps and so on. Will be real adventure to you if decide to flash custom rom for example...

What I would like to know is if installing directly the Google Camera apk file from APKMirror, the app works right on my Moto X4, since It's a phone that I have got since a very short time, it has cost me a lot of money and I'm afraid of spoiling the software.
I would like to know of people who have installed it as I write here on their Moto X4, what kind of settings they have made and if the Moto X4 works well.

Milions of people use such apk's and that's the advantage of Android over iOS. Much open os with much more opportunities. Customization and freedom to use apps that is not from Play store is one of the things that make Android my choice. You are iOS type of user i think. But its not bad... Its your phone...

Idk is file from ap... moreThank you very much for the information, but I prefer to install secure apps in the sense of not having to make difficult installations with patches and plugins from a good forum like XDA but I prefer to install official applications.
I hope that one day in the Play Store you can download the official Google Cam app, so while I prefer not to experiment with my X4.

I tell you from where i download and install mine google camera. XDA developers or 4pda. Both need registration. I didnt know about other sites. Apk mirror etc.

As for the requirements... For the most recent versions you need Oreo, so no problem. Moto x4 already is on Oreo. Use xda forum to take it. Moto x4 have subforum there so you will find useful stuffs. I have read on the APKMirror website in order to download it: "Requirements - The latest version of Google Camera only works on recent Nexus and Pixel devices on Android 7.1.1 and above. Some features are not available on all devices".

Fulton, 19 Mar 2018What is gcam? Full name please.Google camera. Im using modet one. Ver. 5.1.016... You can find much recent versions in xda or 4pda. This particular version give best images for me. Much better than stock camera app.
