It looks like replacing Moto Z play 2016. This year only Moto z2 will be there. no affordable modular phone, since mods are super expensive and defeats the purpose of a budget modular phone. So Moto c, Moto e4, Moto g5+, Moto x. Moto z2 that's the lineup.

I hope this phone will have:
- proper big battery (3600-3700mAh at least, so similar to Moto X Force and Moto X Play)
- proper Dual-SIM with dedicated SD card slot (similar to Moto Z Play and Moto G5 Plus)
- all important sensors and features like the compass, NFC, GLONASS and Galileo support (no skimping on the sensors like Moto always does)
- proper high quality IPS LCD display (I hate AMOLED personally)
- at least 32GB storage and 3GB RAM
If this phone can deliver these and the price is at maximum 350eur, this seems like a dream phone. All the other Snapdragon 625 devices on the market (Lenovo P2, Moto Z Play, G5 Plus, Huawei Nova etc) seem to have some silly compromises, whether it's some sensor missing or bloated software like ASUS or Huawei. I hope the Moto X 2017 will be the no-compromise phone. :-)

At least put SD626 or SD66... moreThe difference between 625&626 is 10% performance (2.0Ghz vs 2.2 Ghz).
It's not a successor but just a mild upgrade.
If the there is pretty significant difference in the price between the two, I'll prefer the cheaper but not much different 625.
