In case you soft brick or hard brick your phone install moto rescue tool (rsd lite tool) also known as Lenovo mobile rescue tool on pc handy
No you cann’t downgrade your android version
To do that you need to older boot img of that android version you want to install which is hard to find because new android versions also updates the boot img file and partition formats

This is the best moto phone.. I bought it in Nov 2016 and still running good in April 2023... This was the masterpiece created by moto...

I too have loved this phone. Family members including kids have gone thru numerous phones. Current service/coverage is causing me to reasearch phones if I switch carriers and found this site. Will be looking at another Motorola.

This phone is amazing... still going strong. The battery life is UNBELIEVABLE
Response is also great - we are using the Nova launcher. Works GREAT

Typing on my Moto Z Play as I write this. Wanting to upgrade but there isn't an upgrade as good! Purchased this phone in 2017 and it is still working great and has an amazing battery. Sometimes it can go 3 days without having to charge. It is keeping me from buying a new phone!

I never updated my moto z. I remains in marshmallow. Its still butter smooth and battery life is exceptional.

I got my Moto Z Play Christmas 1997. I love this phone, but sadly it's being phased out becasue it's not 5G compatible. It's more disappointing that Moto did not continue this line. I love the mods.

I Purchased my Z Play in 2017 because I was so impressed of the Moto Mods Idea. After so many years of using the device daily I would say it's a good smartphone for sure, durable and with a good camera in my opinion. The only thing I don't like in my Z play is after some years I can't remember when exactly started I noticed many software problems with some apps. I mean like in outlook app one day the keyboard just started to pop-up until today every time I am trying to move my emails to folders or in the Amazon shopping app randomly the app is not working with some kind of error or when I scroll down during a search the screen is trembling.
I tried hard reset etc but I couldn't fix anything. It's not a huge problem to face

Still rocking this phone in 2021. Absolutely no problems, save a recent slowdown which was fixed with a factory reset. Nowadays, you don't get a phone with this build quality at a similar price point.

If anyone having Moto Z series phones they should check out Moto TurboPower Pack on Amazon its getting sold at 983 INR. This use to cost around 6K when it came. Its a good deal if you still got Moto Z series phone

I bought mine from Verizon I'm on my 4th replacement from the manufacturer. Nothing out of pocket.

This phone was completely ahead of its time. So many features that are only just becoming standard over 4 years later, like 4K video, 16 megapixel camera, rapid charge, NFC. My Z play finally died after 4 years of heavy usage and it is by far the best phone I ever had. The battery still lasted well right until the end. Hard to believe that this midrange smartphone performs better than some more expensive phones today like the iphone SE.

I am still usuing moto z play but now its charger giving me some problem can any body tell me please like if i will use another charger for my moto z play such as mi 27 watt charger or 18 watt charger does it will be compatiable to my phone or i just go with official charger
