Motorola photon is a world phone , it can either work on gsm or cdma but not on both at the same time.
to get it to work on cdma you will need to get the meid of the phone registered with your service operator and then flash the cdma settings on it .
gsm works with all operators out of the box.
but only gsm or cdma , one at a time , no dual standby and functioning.

have been using it in INDIA from last month.. 3g is working great.. under mobile networks> Network mode: any gsm/umts and under select network choose automatic then restrt ur phone.. u will get 3g. wifi was giving prob after 3 days.. but its fine now. its one of the best phones in the market these days..
