Bought one of these phones for my father. It was supposed to be simple. ie: Make telephone calls! ! ! The operating system is so complicated and difficult to use unless you are a mobile junkie, sitting at a desk. Try using this phone to call someone up if you've got big hands (and fingers) whilst working! Anyone know of a simple "overlay" to get rid of the mostly useless functions. My father would like to make phone calls, answer phone calls, look up contact (simply) etc. I have a Nokia E71 and use many of the functions, but I even have trouble navigating around to do fundamental things on this operating software! Any tips to simplify this thing?

Got this phone yesterday, was fine until I tried to use the camera, the handset froze up and I had to remove the battery, also stalls when I try to swipe between pages, the phone is 10 minutes old for gods sake!!

First fully plastic, My gosh, one pay more than 400 usd for this cheap made plastic, i have never seen a smart with so cheapest plastic build, horrible buy.
and the things start getting worst when the softwares you download require android 2.1 and its currently running android 1.5. oh please motorola...
phone a little slow, when you type and compose text messages.
and the china version is even horrible, where you dont have access to android market, only moto market is available, with less then 100 softwares in totall, plus you can download google maps, and many other softwares restriction.
Be careful when you go out to buy this one, you should know what you are going to buy.

Will be available the Android 2.2 upgrade to this smartphone? To work with 1.5 version seems to be a bad idea when we have the 2.2 version released! sorry about my english if I wrote something wrong. thx!!

Well the best phone i ever had in my life, feels great, nice features,nice photos, excellent sound, nice price, etc..., in scale from 1 to 10 best overall i give him 10 best its an awsome phone better than iphone

Noman, 11 May 2010The only thing this seems to have over the original Cliq is... moreyeah, its's also lighter, and has multitouch, radio, adobe flashlite, LED flash, swype, and a brighter screen.
I would much rather have those things then a keyboard! (A happy Cliq XT owner) =)

Dear Motorola,
What a pathetic phone, u can see by the daily interest rate of people in this phone on gsm arena, well i know this is not the only way.
small screen, motorola charge you for its phone tools mobile to pc software.
moto has poor customer support.
you have to buy the softwares from the phone. there is no pc help..
users beware. you must know well, if you are going to buy this phone.

The only thing this seems to have over the original Cliq is a flash on camera. But no physical keyboard!
