James, 07 Nov 2023I wish Motorola will update V8 and V9 to 4G or 5G. I really... moreso do I. Currently I'm on a smartphone, but I want to go back to a flip phone, preferably an updated somewhat smart StarTac with an oled screen and hotspot. I'm totally fine with using t9 to text as I was really good with it. But swipe got me now. Perhaps a t9 swipe could work. To have an updated and smarter version. Same size, less bulky than todays [2023 phones] and without that annoying bulky antennae. To have the Star Tac come back with a small oled screen in place that could do basic stuff like a partially smart phone would be awesome, or just even smart enough. OR even just really good text and calls, AND have hotspot. Thats all i need. Im great with t9 texting.

Hi. Etisalat has shut down 2G bands. Does this mean this V8 won't make and receive calls in UAE? Im planning to get this unit today.

In the USA, what you need to do is get a SIM card from a T-Mobile MVNO, (NOT T-Mobile themselves because the SIM card will NOT work) like Mint Mobile, and activate it in a newer phone. Then simply pop it out and put it in the RAZR. 2G works, I know this for a fact. 3G I’m not sure about. Their website says they killed it, but PhoneScoop, Wikipedia, and even their own telephone support people say that it still works.

i have it once but on 2010 i sold it.. now i kind like miss this phone.. i can find it on my country but my problem is, is that possible to sync my google contact to this motorola v8 since the OS of this phone not android and old ways contact sync port AFAIK is already closed by google.. can anyone tell me how to sync my google contact to this phone.. if possible to sync, i plan to buy this phone ASAP..

I bought m... moreMan im so happy for you, unfortunately my RAZR V3 and V3i is half dead now but my W375 still kicking I do wish that Motorola will launch such beautiful phones like this. now I am using moto x2 moto g2 moto g4 plus. I don't like to use different brand coz Motorola has a great reputation in my life when it comes in technology.

I got this phone in 2007 I still use it now in 2016 it is a great phone and I think that Motorola should make the same phone but with a update.

This phone shows that you can have style without cost. By far the best looking phone of its time & still best looking phone today. This was when Motorola would take risks with design. I would have this phone now if it had a 3.5mm jack, Whatsapp & Spotify support.
