about the alarm, i tried the datebook, but it does not give repeat options of weekdays only or except Sundays. Come on, who wakes up on their days off at the same time as working days?
Users should not have to twist the intended function to achieve simple tasks like morning call alarms.
I also found that if you set an individual caller ID ringtone, the same tone is used for both voice calls and sms messages when that contact call/SMS you. Very annoying, since a lot of time you just take out the phone from your pocket when it rings, at the same time opening the flip and answer(looks cool doesn't it! ha ha). But it turned out it's an SMS. Also a 30 second mp3 is not necessary for a message, 'cos you are forced to open the flip, press some buttons to shut it up. The buttons on the outside screen does not accomodate this function.

If you have trouble opening the battery cover, apply pressure to the lower part of the cover and push up.

Nice phone but biggest fingerprint magnet EVER!

I'm planning on getting this phone around Valentine's DAy for my mom... Can anyone tell me the pro's & con's of this device. I would prefer it to be able to use Bluetooth to transfer images, ringtones, and stuff & stereo Bluetooth. As long as it can do that I'm fine. Also, can any MP3 be used as a ringtone and/or text message ringer?

                  GSMA Asia Awards WINNERs 2007
Best Mobile Broadband Handset / Device 2007

                  Motorola – MOTORAZR2 V9
Motorola made its new RAZR2 V9 profile even sharper, shaving 2mm from the original RAZR. Greatly enhanced dual screens give consumers the largest-in-its class 2.0” external screen for crisp picture caller ID3 and a 2.2” internal screen with twice the resolution of the original RAZR. With the new ARM 11 processor, processing speed is 10 times faster and with high-speed USB 2.0 it only takes a few seconds to transfer a song. Motorola’s innovative CrystalTalk technology automatically adjusts audio to ensure clear calls even in a noisy environment. With up to 2GB of memory, the new RAZR2 V9 has enough storage for approximately 1,000 songs. Music can be downloaded over the air at near-broadband-like wireless data speeds. The external display incorporates Motorola’s breakthrough 'haptics' technology, which provides users with vibrating feedback in response to their finger taps.

GSMA Asia Awards WINNERs 2007 gave fact "Motorola Razr 2 V9" is the best.

American V9's 3G is UMTS frequencies 850/1900MHz, where Europe (def.) and maybe Asia are using UMTS 2100MHz. I recommend NOT to buy this phone until those 3G world phone (cover at least 3 UMTS frequencies, which are 850/1900/2100) become really popular.
On the other hand, i really like this Razor2, looks so cool with a distinct attitude.

This means that the RAZR2 series ain't no pushover. You thought the "stupid" operating system is confusing, I bet you're new to a Motorola phone. Of course, if you're used to another brand for a couple of years or so, at first you will be frustrated at a new brand's settings. It's just it. And to those who say that its features are lacking, remember that Motorola creates fashion phones, not multimedia ones. Its phone philosophy is style over substance, not the other way around where all of the others are focusing on.

Got this phone as a present a few weeks ago. It only has 1 camera, you use video calling via the outside screen with the flip closed I suppose. I'm on a 2G plan, so no video calling for me yet.

Photos are decent enough for snap shots, but you can't zoom in when viewing the pictures (tsk tsk tsk...) and video is really weak.

Yes, you can use external memory (Micro SD card, up to 4GB according to the handbook). It's hot-swappable but you need to remove the back cover (but not the battery) to do so.

The inside screen is great, but outer screen is comparatively dim and colour is not sharp at all. And you can't customize the outer screen. It by default use the same wallpaper as the inner screen, and it has a huge digital clock right in the middle that blocks virtually everything. With the lack of punch on the outer screen I don't think video calling will be much fun.

The menu is nowhere as intuitive as say the Samsung D840 I had. A lot of hunting around is needed for various settings which are all over the place. The thing that bugs me most is that alarms do not allow repeat. If say, you want to set a morning call everyday, then you have to go enable it everyday. Moto Engineers, grab a Samsung and see how it's done.

In your hand, the phone is not that well balanced with the flip open. I think the top is too heavy with the two big screens. This makes it a bit difficult to press the bottom row (* 0 #) of keys.

This is a good phone that could be much better with a more decent menu and better thought-out options and customization possibilities (please let me hide or move that stupid clock on the outer screen).

This is a great phone. 10/10 for styling. Good clear picture and display, easy to use interface. Little big and a magnet for oil and dust...but it's a super shiny phone...pay the price! Can I use this phone in Asia? South Korea, Korea, HongKong? I bought the phone in North America.
