Rhythm, 10 May 2013What's happening with Motorola they need to up their game. ... moreThis is a middle range smartphone and it's a huge success in Latin America. Definitely better than any S3 Mini or Mid range LG/Sony out there.

They really upped their game in the low/mid range segment with the new Razrs.
And just wait for the Motorola XT1058. Real killer.

My girlfriend just bought the Dual SIM model here in Brazil (XT920). It's a very good middle range phone, Jelly Bean at best with almost no customization from Motorola. It's fast enough but not for gamers because of outdated GPU.

And the best part is: the Battery. Using 2 SIM , 3G data access and Wifi all day long , some calls , SMS and Whatsapp it gets 1.5 day of battery before charging! Turn off Wifi and 3G and clearly it longs 2 days of use.

Anonymous, 30 Apr 2013I'm not an expert or anything. But it seems to me that this... moreIt should last more than a day because of Jelly Bean, a smaller screen and CPU optimizations.

Now that I have used it for a few days, I can say yes, battery life is good.
I have enabled some smart actions to conserve battery (no reason not to), but WiFI and GPS are always on and 3G is on when there is no good WiFi nearby.
In the end of the day it has 50~60% charge, and I calculate 2~3h of total use (with screen on and network in use) and the rest on standby.
It may not be the heaviest use, but it is by no means light.

I'm not a mobile gamer, so the fact that its GPU is underpowered is not an issue for me. I've tested Cut The Rope - Time Travel and it had some animation slowdowns. I image 3D games are out of the question.

I'm not an expert or anything. But it seems to me that this phone runs on a similar processor as the Razr Maxx, despite having much less sustain... My guess is it would last at most a day. Just saying.

(I have got the dual chip version: XT920)

                      Pros:
                      - Price (considering the brazilian market).
                      - Responsive.
                      - Good screen.
                      - Software:
                      -- Almost pure 4.1 JB.
                      -- Quick settings screen.
                      -- SmartActions.

                      Cons:
                      - I gave up on tranferring files via USB, it doesn't work. I am using FTP instead.
                      - Accessing the SIM is very very difficult. I had to use an extra to tool to do it.
                      - I didn't like the visible screws.

                      Opinion:
This is a good phone, and the annoyances are relegated to very rare tasks.
                      Worth every penny.

PS: I didn't have the opportunity to test the cameras or evaluate battery life.

I only turn 3g and wifi on when I'm using it. Battery life is much better than my former phone, an xperia mini pro. In stand by, after 2 days after recharging it still had 50% battery left. The phone is fast and, as I don't use my phone to play games, it is perfect for my needs.

A Motorola representative (support chat) told me the guaranteed upgrade is to 4.2 rather than 5.0 (Brazil)

I like Motorola, and this model isn't slow, but is very disappointing. It has "ching ling" chipset (see Gpcouto msg). The phone hangs, before dialing. And, as I said before, the battery capacity is not good. Do NOT deserve to use the name RAZR.
