I don't like the vertical blue light strips on the front at all. They seem ill conceived and totally out of place, like an after thought - "lets put some pretty blue light strips on the phone".
I hope they cover the camera and flash (whatever it is) area with a piece of hardened glass to give that section a smoother appearance like the V3x. In fact get rid of the flash/focussing aid altogether, it'll just waste power that is sure to be in short supply to begin with. Such a tiny light will be useless as a flash and as an aid to autofocus, well who knows if focus matters at 2 feet distance.
I would prefer the laser etched keypad design from the V3/V3i to what the sample of the Maxx has. Otherwise possibly an FM radio would be nice, but for some reason Motorola only seems to install those in low end phones. I don't understand that.
Lets hope this phone turns out to be the high quality unit Motorola's flagship should be. The V3x was a letdown in build quality and feel, being somewhat cheap and flimsy. I believe the Maxx is metal and hardened glass, sounds promising, hope it feels like a tank in my hand. At only 1mm thicker than the V3i, it's sure to be thin and svelt. With my suggestions and a good battery, this phone will be numero uno.

keeping in mind people this runs on the higher band 3g and is not just a rip off of the old v3, it allows for high speed transfer of information and especially here in australia this higher network will revolutionise the way we use phones and the internet

Copying design from other manufacturer is normal though, notice how many 'thin' phone came out after V3?

If moto is reclycing their design so does SE. I'm sick of these. All same. dont know why you mentioned Samsung. May be coz they are all black...but atleast they offer way more designs than any other brands.
wait and watch, just like LG chocolate and D900 or BS SL91, soon moto will release one slider with touch screen model.

i can barely tell the difference between any of the SE walkman bar phones, or the many cheap Nokia candybars, or the sea of black robotic samsung designs. yet moto is the one criticized for recycling an award winning design that continues to sell?
everybody reuses something when it works. the razr maxx looks good, that's all i care about.

what about SE then? What is W800, W810, K700, K750, W700 etc etc then? Ain't it cloning one another? Everybody seem like missing tht point if it comes to SE.

nick does your v3x have a radio er no it doesnt,does it have video ring tones er no to that as well,is it wireless connection oops no to that as well,where is the infra red damn that seems to be missing too guess this phone doesnt quite have everything.i may not know everything about phones but look on the gsm arena main motorola page and what phones are the last 4 motorola have announced all v3 clones even you have to agree they are running out of ideas.

yah..this is a very nice phone indeed with all features presently available. Still it is better than those candy bar phone of NOKIA.Same design same menu only features changes.

I personally hate moto razrs. But its hard to find any other phone with all these features its price range. And IMO it looks pretty cool, maybe they should have made THIS one the slider..

if your stupid enough to keep buying these bloody razr phones no wonder motorola keep churning out different types with very little improvement.stop it, stop it now, you know who you are and its because of you motorola release a new colour every week,boycott these phones to give motorola a kick up the arse so they get back to the design table and give us a fresh new product and not another obscure colour for the razr.

Moto can never be as good as samsung or nokia. I own a cellphone store and i have a 1,000,000 complains a day about motorola phones.... they are just no good...
