I live in Canada and i bought my phone a few months ago. It's great overall, but the downside to it is that it doesn't keep connection to the network. I went in to the netwrok settings and tried every single band available on the phone and the only one that responds is the 1900. (Canada and the states both use 850/1900). :-( i paid 600$ for this thing and i can't return it. i lose reception easily. So for everyone in Canada don't bother buying this phone. The 1.3 MP camera and MP3 are great, but what good is a phone if u can't make any calls and ur always losing reception. Does anyone know how i can fix this problem?

Actually I'm not Moto fans, but I have V3xx because it's currently cheapest HSDPA phone around and found it's surprisingly fast.
But after reading STUPID comment from a girl below named LUCIANA (there's always stupid people like her on every forum), I'll give my comment...
Those features you said aren't something that hardly to figure out before purchase. So why the hell did you still buy it?? Have much money to waste?
And broken screen because it's fallen?? C'mon, that could be happened on every phone...

i just got two,and we love them, they run with 3g
just like an lg but with the feel of a razor.everything on the phone is a refresh to the old v3,and the mini sd is nice,i have found that if you buy a no name mini sd the mp3 will have trouble on the phone, spend the mony if you need the mp3 or you pic etc to work right.all in all this phone for me is all i need, and the price of those i phones and pradas are way two high also the screens scratch to easy, save your money buy a razor v3xx.......

It's a good phone, not excitingly great, but good. Motorolas aren't as easy to navigate through as Nokia, and it's not just a matter of being used to Nokia - it's not organised very well.

I'm having trouble with my phone playing mp3's. approx 3 out of 4 the phone says aren't compatable when I try to play. Anyone know what's going on?

Otherwise the phone is great so far.

                          @Geeta
No, it doesn't have FM. Motorola isn't as user friendly as other brand, but as long as we have brain, we can learn how to use it. It's not hard to use, just different...

RE: V3xx not charging on USB to a laptop

Thank for the info. Actually I have Motorola Phone Tools loaded. It's the only way to get internet connectivity and to create a USB modem connection for your laptop to the phone. I also made sure the tools were updated to the most current version, 4.3.6c which includes the actual drivers and phone skin for the V3xx.
What's funny though I have another Motorola phone, the old V3, and I plug that phone into my laptop and it charges fine.

HMMM...after just typing this out it has me thinking to uninstall and reload the phone tools and see what happens as maybe there's a conflict been the two phones using one program. I'll let you know how it works.

                                Thanks

Ravi, you do need special software.

Motorola PST and P2KMan are two essential programs for hacking Moto Phones. although not free, they're worth every last penny.

                                  Google them!

M3, i've had that same problem with almost every motorola phone i've had. but it's NOT THE PHONE'S FAULT!!!

basically, if your computer can't recognize it correctly, it wont charge. if you get Motorola Phone Tools then your phone should start charging. if your acquire this program and it still doesnt work, get motorola PST, and the phone should start charging.

these two programs help the computer recognize the phone correctly, thus making it possible to charge it! MPT will see it as a "Motorola USB Modem" and PST will see it as an "MCU Data Logging Interface" and a couple other devices.

                                    good luck!

i like how the european version is 3.5G HSDPA compatible, but the american version doesnt even have a secondary video calling camera. Cingular's really gotta step their game up, 3G has arrived in the states all too late, and doesnt even compare to european 3G networks from four years ago. :'( and the worst part is, it's all on the 850 band here - i cant even use my v6maxx on cingular!

V3xx does not charge when connected to USB on laptop.
I'm hoping it's not just my phone but has anyone ever had this problem with this phone?
I use my phone for internet connectivity for my laptop with my phone as a USB modem and the battery dies after a extend period of time. So I have to disconnect and recharge the battery before I can resume my internet surfing. Very annoying.
