To whoever below:
Look mate, moto IS copying Samsung with the fact that they are trying to make it into a thin slider but didnt success! it is no where as thin as D820 or D800 not to mention the ultimate D840 (11.9mm compared with this moto 16mm). The SE W850i is selling for its music / camera / video features not its thickness or compactness like this moto RIZR.
By the way dude, in case you are not in this world, the trend is to have things as small as thin as light as compact as possible! eg laptop / notebooks. why would you want a phone made of bloody heavy metal? it drags in your pocket! if you like heavy phones, why not go back to bricks??! I mean what is so compact about this phone? it is not light and it is not thin??! Samsung is actually one of the first to develop slider phones so yeah, any other companies which only just starting to produce them ARE in fact copy cats.

yes is inspired in the razr but the rizr is more small very very small in a razr comparation i can tell you something rizr is over other motorola phones in your category. i have one unit prototype and is to much better!

I cant wait for it to come out in Australia it looks so sleek and thin I am just wondering about the features and how good they would be. Will there be any other colors? If there a color like blue or pink I will seriously get this fone when it comes out. Oh and I think it is so cool how it is a slider and with how thin this Motorola Rizr!!!!!!! It's so coooool I am in love with it such a good design.

ok dont have irda but have bluetooth A2DP- Stereo and i have a stereo headphones HT820 and 2gb transflash for mp3 and giveme a great sound i am comform. the other thing is rizr work with a razr batery and i purchase 2 batery more for the day but is a minimal thing if u dont touch the phone can stay in standby for 3 day tested for me motorola dont have nice batery i know that but i like the phone is a nice phone nice desing and confortable keyboard dispotition for me is ok!

I'm not sure how you came to conclusion that this model is out there even before D820. Yeh motorolla released one slider RAZR, the so called "capri", that came out in Korea as Z MS600. But that model didnt have the infamous chinky base of calmshell RAZR. Samsung came up with D820 last year with the base (but no so chucky as RIZR) and kept on making sliders based on that design like D840/D870/D900. So naturally one can say moto copied the it. Moto should have designed this in the first place.

Ain't as thin as Samsung.
That said, I have to say it looks good. But hey, anyone knows when are they going to launch this phone?
The specifications are not exactly groundbreaking. If they launch this phone any later, it'll be outdated before it even enters the market!

hello boys i am a happy rizr propietary and i think what is a better phone in your category sweet stuffs and goodies nice games nice audio quality but have a little problem the speaker not are powerfull and your sound is poor. uhm sorry for my english is not good..

I have never been a fan of motorolas and especially their RAZR series. I checked out the KRZR n didnt like it. I saw the slider razr concept design last year in the pics and i loved it. I am just glad that motorola has put that design into work. Now the question is when would it be available? I had to wait over a year to get my p990i and I really dont want to wait another year for this. Can someone pleast tell me when they are coming out with the RIZR? thanks!

Top of the line phone. This phone's been out before that D820 has been out so I don't know what you're talking about down there. Besides to those Itunes users, Itunes is not all that great. A better way to do it is tranfer song files to the audio folder of the microSD and you can put more than 100 songs while Itunes limits that to only 100. This phone is a 10, I own one and the phone runs for $1,499.99. Don't believe me, go look it up.

This phone's main feature should be an MP3 player (since phone has A2DP Bluetooth)
1)Tell me better how is the music quality of it's MP3 player?
2)Is is easy to load music into this phone from PC with USB cable? Is USB cable included with the phone?
3)How is the batterry life if using an MP3 player? (shouldn't be long, since battery only 780 mAh, plus the official talk time is only 3.2 hours)

Come on mate. If you say Motorola copy cat of Samsung, wat about nokia, and sony erocsson W850i? Are those phones copy dog??? hahaha,,,, Bloody D820 is nothing. Just another plastic phone. Damm black plastic and the battery is bloody useless.....
