If you like Ferrari edition, try the Moto V9 Ferrari edition instead.
I already try to use Z8 as a "phone" (no music, no other software application) and it still hangs / auto shutdown every once in a while.
I think I might be happier with the non-smart Z3.

I have been using Z8 for almost a year now.....it is pathetic!!! twice i have given it 4 repair, fortunately its under warranty!!din cost me netin....
its amazin 4 calling, crystal clear.....no comparison to any other phone ive used b4....
but, the thing keeps switching off in de middle of a call!!!!
its slow as hellll!!!!
de slide, gets damaged after some time, n de phone will switch off wile slidin!!!
de loud-speaker is OK, nt tht gr8.....
but, dey shld've put a normal audio jack, insead of a USB 1....
overall, i dun c de pt of buyin this fone, unless u go 4 de looks.....feels good 2 slide it!! hehe :-D

yup. i agree. just get the z8 if you really like the looks and if everything else is unnecessary to you. i have this phone as back up for my n82. i just love the appearance. that's it. so disappointing. and yeah, i guess rokr z6 is better overall. you can even have it modded. :)

Damn I'm confused!!! SE or Moto... Hmmm.. Maybe just the Z6... It's cheaper and better, I think, compared to the V6(except the 3G)

I bought a moto z8 and from day one it was giving me trouble. It switches on and off by itself and the speaker was not working properly either. 2 months after buying the phone, the sliding mechanism broke so my service provider gave me a replacement phone. now the replacement phone (also a z8) is also giving me problems. i have had motorolas all my life and this is by far their worst phone. i do not recomend this phone to anyone.

100 Moto, 22 Oct 2008I think most people would be happier if Moto takes out the ... moreI bought a 3 month old Z8 and it was shutting down by itself, I formatted the phone and it is now great.
When the battery starts getting low it sometimes shutdown.
As far as MP3's, music is great and easy to download.
Sounds good too.
The quality is top notch and yes Nokia is very good, but not perfect either.

This is a pretty cool phone. It is a European version and overall I am happy with this phone.
The battery gets low within 2-3 days, but that is because I can't leave it alone. So far it has been a few months and although it is not perfect, it has kept me interested. I can download whatever I want and customize the look and sound of this phone.
Reception is great and the speaker is pretty good too.
If you want a smartphone that looks cool, and don't want to pay a fortune, checkout the Z8.

hi guys.z8 is a good phone i have it for more than 11 month its cool i faced only problems when it was broken in the accident but afTer fixing back as new and about the os download the new 1 at motorola customer center try it..trowa

My Z8 encountered auto shutdown twice yesterday...
Can Moto help me to take the stupid Symbian OS out of my Z8 and just install a basic (P2K?) OS, so my Z8 can work (as well!) like my Z3?

Can i adjust... moreTexting in English should be "ok", though for other language, such as Chinese which I use, the "select" (from mutiple characters) and the "send" buttons are too close together where I often sent without completing the message.
No, you cannot change the angle of the curved keypad, some users may find typing 123 or *0# a bit difficult. (not me)

I need texting too. I'm used to a hard keypad. Can i adjust to the curved keypad of the z8?? I also want the phonebook capacity.. anyway thats it!!
