you lot are having trouble wiyh z8,,well the n95 is just as bad locking up,, battery life is most likely worst in in mobile history,,slow,,loose slider is really really loose..I think symbian needs looking at OR the proccesors and other components want checking or something and as for my p990i well that is worst symbian of all..The best symbian smartfone out of the 10 or more ive had is the 6630 but thats dated and poor specs.Hve now bought samsung g600 and alltho not a smartfone it does a heck of a lot with good battery vga video widescreen video and browser so hope this does not start with any probs ,,had it 2 weeks

I take back my query. it does play fullscreen for custom loaded videos. Excellent phone still the phone kept getting hanged for 10 times in 1 st day of use. This needs to be solved by software update. does anyone know wehre to find it?

Having used Motorola c380, v3i and a1200 in past, just bought this today. It's with a lot of features that you can use for day-to-day activity. Just 1 lapse, video is not playing fullscreen!! does anyone know how to fix this? Also, have heard about phone getting dead/hanged repeatedly, is this true? have motorola yet not come with the soulution? please update.

Seriously.... Don't bother. This phone is terrible. Like a blond bombshell, looks great but useless when it comes to brains!!

just brought z8 but there is no keypad backlight any one else has it bcoz its imposssiblr to tx at night rest the fone is fine bluetooth headsets rock ! please let me know about the keypad light

I used to have a Moto L7 and I got the Z8 Yesterday. I'm SO impressed with it!!!
Graphics are amazing, the UIQ OS is brilliant. There's not a lot of downloadable software (symbian) yet, but I'm sure they'll come soon. All the JAVA midlets that i've downloaded work fine.
I noticed that when I had my phone outside and the sun was shining on it full-on, the screen is still viewable. They've put something really cool into the display! It's has to be the best display on any phone ever...
The browser is AMAZING - it even works with AJAX websites and the built-in email app is good too.
The loudspeaker isn't the best of the Moto's I've had, but then again - who wants to listen to music on it if you can use the stereo bluetooth headset?
If you like symbian, this is the phone to get! Also - battery life is great.

Hey if you want movies on your phone, rent a dvd from yr nearest video store and rip it onto your phone using an mp4 convertor. Its cheap and ultra clear.

I'm in South Africa. This phone was a problem from day 1. It freezed, didnt recognise my SIM card, had to reboot everytime I wanted to access GPRS. Dropped video calls. Navigation-wise, it was really unfriendly. I'm replacing it with something else - not sure what!Still thinking. Looking at something with these features / sales package:

- Data Cable
- Memory Card
- Video Calling

This phone should be recalled completely as the z10 has already replaced it. The z8 has never been fully released so question is "When is the z10 going to be available?"

I read too much negative opinions about the Z8 that if freezes a lot...which make me freeze too after i wanted it badly..and i think the price is still too high for a 2mpx phone..design is nice,might wait a little longer to see what motorola will upgrate..we want nice menu interface but no freeze pls!

where is the review of this phone GSMArena ? and why are other brands of mobiles like Nokia , S.E. and Samsung gets more review that Motorola.
