DONT BELIEVE GSMARENA! It's not a credible source for accurate information.

Look: http://europe.motorola.com/uk/motorizrz8/

If Motorola says this phone is Quadband...ITS QUADBAND, regardless of what any other site says!!!

And when u think about it, most Symbian handsets operate on global support Quadband anyways.

Vodafone confirmed a couple of days ago that this phone will be released on the 11th June.

I noticed a post below that said this phone will be delayed until Aug. Whether or not this is true I can't confirm but normally a network would advertise a phone of this callibre a lot more around this time, if it is indeed going to be released for 11th June.

        an elf outperforms the giant:

        http://youtube.com/watch?v=UWHQ1aKHyVg

Motorola RIZR Z8 vs Nokia N95 video comparison test.

conclusion: N95 shows more contrast within the video review, but Motorola RIZR shows more "fine" and something more "DVD-like" quality than N95. with N95's price it only PARs at the low-class RIZR which proves how UIQ is great!

to Bad Carma, flightmode has been available on all decent motorola handsets since the v3x i believe, however use of the phone on board of on aircraft is stil forbidden. when i flew from england to holland, the announcement stipulated not to use the phone EVEN if it has aeroplane mode!! its even more useless if you have bluetooth headphones, as aeroplane mode wont let you establish a bluetooth link. so why not just ban the damn things off the aerolane and be done with it?

with the SE and Motorola collaboration with UIQ. i think this RIZR Z8 will/should be available in Q3 this year. for those who worry about the software's backward compatibility with UIQ 3 phones. it is backward compatible. imagine the P990 flip closed mode where UIQ 3 applications run with the use of TS. so the UIQ software is especialized for both touchscreen and non-touchscreen use. and it means compatibility

Just to add, the email was sent directly from a Vodafone service desk administrator who I have been dealing with in, not from the Vodafone website where you enter your email address for updates.

                      To the person below who said I've got it wrong about recieving an email from Vodafone, here is is;

                      "Good afternoon,

We have had information sent directly from Motorola to the release of the rizr. Unfortunately they have delayed the release of the rizr until august. No reason has been given to why this is but there is the possibility of 2 more handsets to be released at the same time.

Sorry for any inconvenience if there is any other handset you are interested please email me back and ill be happy to discuss further options."

Now, either the sender of the email is lying to me, or he has his facts wrong.
                      Regardless, I want this phone!

I think the unique thing about Z8 is that it accepts SDHC memory cards. The biggest capacity memory cards available right now is 4G. Heck thats the same as iphone man!!!

this link shows that the z8 has 90mb, MEGABYTES of internal memory...

This phone is feature packed for the gadget freaks, reliable (unlike the nokia n range, they are full of problems, trust me on that I work ina returns department for a mobile company), stylish and different. You've gotta check out the video quality it is mint!!! Plus the sky plus feature is mint and the download speed is awesome.

The intresting about this phone is the screen, processor and the symbian 9.2 UIQ 3.1 and support for HDSPA. The downside on the other hand is the batterylife and the size so mostly it depends on what kind of phone you like.

I have a Sony Ericsson K750 (I'm Swedish) and it's a very good phone but I'm thinking on going over to a 3g-phone so it's either this or the SE k810 but this seems like more fun!

Those anyone know if it has flightmode?
