not a perfect nowaday phone: no wlan, no autofocus, not even radio.. no match even for Nokia N80, will pass on this model.. Try better Moto ;)

WOW, Never thought Motorola could go so far. Symbian Phone with extreme Looks. Amazing. What worries me is the price factor but i can deal with that.
Secondly, when is this phone going to be released around the world?? I so want to feel this phone in the palm of my hand!!!!!!!!!!!!
This one is a MUST BUY!!

@Cian,
Yes I do hang around Moto and Samsung forums, coz their designs suits my taste. and you are right. "style", "build" and "materials"...thats what motorola is ALL about...they mostly lag in the other departments. What's funny to me is that you guys never acknowledge the negetive sides at all.
And to tell you, not all manufactureres are using cheap material..sorry, I beg to differ. For example, the new ultra series from samsung (sorry folks had to bring in samsung again) are all made of magnesium alloy and fiber induced material..the same kind that moto is using.
As far as Z8 is concerned I've already said I've liked the innovative form factor. Peace.
I have a life and i'm loving it.

And it`s funny how other brand user claim they don`t care about their phones being ugly pieces of cheap plastic, and still you hang on Moto forums, checking out all new Moto models, trying to bash it with the "camera" argument, because you sure cannot compare style, build and materials. Get a life.

The phone is based on UIQ 3.1 and not Series 60 as quoted. Please confirm.

Its funny..I've noticed that most of the Moto Fans argue that camera is not important and if you want one buy a digi cam instead. Oh please, thats a excuse, coz moto phones doesnt have a cam to match with other brands.
Yes It matters. Am I paying less for having a 2mp crappy cam??? No. Then?
Its not a big deal for most of you moto fans, coz it seems you hadly spend money to buy a phone. You get it as free upgrade. Isnt it?

What a different "2 Mega Pixel Camera" and "3 Mega Pixel Camera", not much different and no big deal.
If you focus on digital camera, just buy digital camera. Digital Camera already has 8 Mega Pixel. If you focus on video camera, just buy handy cam.
Good or not the result of "camera phone" is not depend how many mega pixel. But depend from many factor like angle when you take a picture, hardware, software, mega pixel, lens and much more factor. Mega Pixel just a small part factor.

changing your firmware like E398 to a rokr e1 its not something supported by motorola though, it was made by thirdparty and its illegal, means void warranty.

The Nokia software update utility? That's old innovation for "Motorola".
Motorola has software "Motorola Software Update" for long time than Nokia. That's software let's "Motorola User" to upgrade firmware automaticly when connect between your "Motorola mobile" and PC / Laptop following cable data and internet connection. Very simple.
Motorola User is very creative and smart than other brand user. Example: Motorola user can make "Motorola E398" to be "Motorola Rokr E1". The master of "Motorola V3 Razr" is "MotoX", you can look to this website => http://www.motox.info

to PDLx:have you heard of the nokia software update utility?it does exactly what it suggests...updates your firmware to solve bugs like hangs,lag etc...so what do you expect?of course the price will drop after a period of time because new models appear.the only things that record a grow in price are land,houses,rare metals and jewels.but remember that it could be worse.

This is a threat to Nokia.....A Moto with Symbian.
If Motorola managed to overcome the symbian problem that Nokia face , than nokia will be history.

to PDLx.now look...motorola had success with few phones(the cheaper ones).in my country there are only 4 phone producers:nokia,se,samsung and other.they are reliable.you cat throw them,drop them,even in the water(you open it,dry it,and guess what...it still works!!).some modeles i can say that are bulletproof.if it hangs you are certain that after you take the battery out and put it back in it will still turn on.now i don't say that all models are like that...there are exceptions,but let's be serious.motorola sell cheap phones because most the buyers are adults and they don't like complicated phones.you can't force a 45 year old person to learn how to use wi-fi or other stuff.and even if they buy expensive ones that's because they've got a lot of money and don't know on what to spend them(or they like to show off).nokias are serious phones for serious people,aimed at the business class,se are for those that want to have fun,and samsungs for classy persons.even if motorola sell more terminals that's because they are cheap.no firmware updates,every phone has to have a twin brother updated (like the v3 series;i need all my fingers to count them,including the ones from my feet),most of them have a crappy menu,poor camera,poor mp3 player etc...other than that,there is no need to continue this discussion.i think i made my point.

However Nokia Fans said about Motorola. Nokia no match with Motorola design, Motorola design is best design than Nokia.
Poor Nokia, doesn't has anything award from "3GSM Association". It's better "Motorola" has "The Best Ultra Low Cost Handset".
Poor Nokia... Poor Nokia worker in Finlandia, they doesn't has bonus because Nokia in year 2006 doesn't has target market.

I agree with you new moto fan, I would never think about buying a Motorola for personal use until now. Might buy it for my sister, it seems like a good phone.
However, it is no match for any of Nokia's offerings.
