I have a couple of additional themes, created myself. Themes like the original ONYX (modified), LOUD RING, SOFT RING and SLEEPING SOFT were created myself for selection at different timing usage. Example, at noisy places, I'll choose LOUD RING and SLEEPING SOFT theme to be used during bedtime so that incoming calls and messages are really soft, enough to alert me but would not disturb my wife!!
Since themes are basically focused on sound and picture, I've picked different ringtones and pictures for different themes. If you need more choices of pictures beside your own, search in the internet for Motorola E8 wallpaper and they should come in 240 x 320 size.
Just go to phone setting, themes, option, create theme and name your new theme title. Have your pictures and ringtones selected first to speed up your preferred theme.
Be careful on wallpaper selection as some colourful ones will drain your battery faster as compared to a picture with more black colour in it.

I have been using this E8 for more than a year now, overall I'm still happy with it. Wanted to buy another unit to keep as spare, in case, for parts or standby unit. I know some guys might think it's not a good move but for me, yeah I mean for me, I liked the E8 for its thin, solid factor and its Crystal Talk - so far I can't find any other that can fit into my personal requirement. It did "hang" on me a couple of times but I'm used to accepting it as part & parcel of any phones these days. It's also a little slow sometimes and I'm in no rush either. I think moderation (in terms of expectations) is the key word here.
The factors that I use to choose a suitable phone are:
- It must have Crystaltalk or any kind of background noise cancelling design,
- Slim, around 10mm, pocket friendly;
- Must be a bar or slide design;
- Linux, Symbian, or Windows Mobile OS
- Solid design with metal casing;
- Reasonably good battery standby
What I demand of a mobile phone as stated above only meant for my own requirement and I don't expect everybody to agree with me. It's just individual taste. Until today, I still like the way E8 is, unfortunately there's no more new ones available in my country where I live.

MP3 playback quality is awesome, better than sony walkman - no need to mention apple devices here. Quite easy to use. Two grips tough. When listening music, can't turn-off the scroll wheel : the slightest touch and the player goes forward or backward. U had to lock the buttons but what's the point having to go lock-unlock every time I want to change tunes. Second, the miniSD card can't be removed-pushed in unless the battery is removed.

soooo i bought this fone! at first i had sum doubts abt buyin it buttt i dont anymore. the thing looks like an ipod! yay ^_^ it rell kewl... its like a fone-pod hehe the scroll whell is pwetty kewl. and well i had like 6 fones so farr and i am pretty satisfied wit this one,, its rele strong..ie. the material used is gud..METAL ... strong fone .. COOL FONE,,, radio sounds perfect.. out speakr thou is umm okish not all that but who cares headfones are more important... I LIKE IT ALOT THOU ^_^

Hi friends I've been using this ROKR E8 since may 2008 & till date i never faced any problems like hanging, low volume etc & only once i did give to motorola center for software update. I bet no phone will look simple & stylish like E8. Sometimes people get confused abt this phone as i-pod. Thanks to motorola

Its a very bad handset i ever used. phone hanged alot of time without reason and hae very very bad fuctioning.

Ringtone stopped working. I do not get to know when a call comes. When I change it to meeting mode the screen gets stuck. Anybody any idea..??? :(

I been using this phone about half year, overall is satisfied. But something i want to say is, if you are like to capture picture using phone, for e8 its totally suck! screen too small, and working slow. Anyway, the design and music was good. If you are thinking to buy this phone i will like to suggest you buy another, if not, you will regret for it.

i m using this phone from 6 months and this is a good phone i m using all functions of phone with no problam....i dont have any problam. the os is linux and its best. every thing is good music phone.
and about 2mp camera so no flash and no auto focus....

I dont know why users give such a bad review. First this is a music phone so camera does not come into picture. 2nd it has linux os and so the response timing does not come into picture. If so has anyone noticied it has a task manager built into it. If you ask me this is the best phone in the series with competitiors. GPRS is excellant. So if you go with it you will never regret it.

It is the sucking phone, I recommend every that don't buy this phone. This is the waste of money and time. It's camera is more poore than vga.

Hello Everyone. I have used this phone well over year and a half and I have noticed some serious flaws in this Phone.
It has very slow response. Even though Memory is almost empty.
No vibrate and ring.
Problem with the contact storing. Once you save a contact (in fact a phone number), a normal phone will show you the name you saved even if you haven't stored the number with country code, But this phone doesn't. I mean you have to store a number twice if you want contact name to be displayed when you receive a phone call and when you receive an SMS.
Has a problem with hanging.
But 2 MP camera and design are satisfactory.
Still I wouldn't suggest some to buy this phone.
