keenen, 13 Sep 2008i live in the philippines... i wannt to know how much is... morekeenen,

From my knowledge at www.store.motorola.com the E8's selling at USD 288.99 without contract. But I would strongly suggest that you purchase from your local authorised Motorola distributor due to warranty purposes eventhough the price might be slightly higher. My experience with my previous V8, I've got 2 items claimed under warranty during the first 6 months but there's another guy who bought his V8 from another country didn't manage to get any warranty claims from his phone defects. He's just the unlucky one as generally the V8's a good phone.

So if possible, get it from Philippines where you live, it's nearer & safer than to feel sorry later. The after sales support is also better, if they have future software upgrades for the E8 to enhance its performance, you can also get it most likely free. Good luck.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Your encoded locations for both come from the same source since you asked (mCSY) and mine's (vV5B). It's OK, I'm on your side, I've communicated with another Anonymous with the same encoded location at different sites too, he's also another nice guy with tons of Motorola experiences. No big deal friend, people like you & me are out here trying to help others - it's a good thing.

If you're referring to how to delete messages from Inbox or Outbox in E8, then open your Inbox / Outbox from Message Menu, select Option (bottom left of screen) & select Delete All or Select Multiple (to select messages you want to delete by ticking in the box next to the message).

If the above is not what you're looking for, perhaps I got your meaning "Most Recently messaged" wrongly interpreted. If that's the case, please post your question again.

                -------------------------------------------

                Hi Stuart,

I think Shank was referring to the "Most Frequently Messaged" contacts who would pile up first everytime you send a message. I don't think there is a way to have it deleted as it would go by default once these contacts are messaged more often.

                  --------------------------------------------

just a precaution... dont let it reach 3000 messages or you'll experience it lagging. i had mine reach up to 3000 messages in my inbox with my outbox reaching 2000 plus messages and it turned out to be really slow so i ended up deleting all the messages right away.

Have tried slide, flip & candybar designs and so decidedly chosen either slide or candybar design for now. Like you said, I'll probably go back to flip design when I'm older, say 65 or 70 (if I live that long) coz by then the only document I'll carry would be my will! (LOL).

Have you tried Z9 yourself? Size wise looks like E8 before sliding open so would say it's rather big phone but the reviews are good eventhough it is still smaller when compared to the first Motorola "Tai Kor Tai" (big brother big, a nickname for this phone back then for Hong Kong people).

Stuart, 11 Sep 2008Many thanks for your compliments. My hats off to you friend... moreHaving owned over 40 phones isn't that special nowadays when phones start around USD50.

My first Moto phone was back in 1992...can't remember the model name, because there was practically only "one" model, for around USD$645.

Some may go for 1 single phone costing over USD$700, though so far this year I've been buying some "outdated" (ex-mid/top of the line) models like K3 (USD$228), K1 (USD$128), Z8 (USD$293), E6 ($190)...

Surprisingly, I have never owned any V8/V9. As for V8, I don't really like the fact the phone doesn't support external memory, as I'd much rather the phone "doesn't" get so "smart".

So how about V9? As mentioned in my other reply in the Zn5 discussion, video call is very important to me, and shamefully Moto decided to put only 1 cam on V9 (and it doesn't rotate like A925) when most of its other 3G phones offered dual cam for v-call.

On the other hand, different people certainly have different needs. I really appreciate the flip phone design, as my parents and in-laws, and my other aunts and uncles, all find operating a flip phone is much much easier!

To answer a call, just open the flip. To end a call, just close the flip. No need to "find" the call/end buttons. (Guess most of us here won't know until we reach over 65/70!)

My wife uses K3, and I think most Japanese can't survive without flip phones!

For example if the song's from your CD are of .cda formats, the sync via Windows Media Player will still work but it won't play in your E8. The easiest way to do it is to use a music converter software like at this website:

                                        http://www.download.com/Free-CD-Music-Converter/3000-2140_4-10303263.html

to convert the songs to MP3 format. Remember to change the Output Format to .MP3 & go for CD-Quality instead of Near CD-Quality, remember your Output Folder so that you know where to retrieve the songs you've converted then proceed with the sync. That's it, now you can have all types of songs in your E8 irregardless of their formats.

                                        Good luck.
