    It’s thinner than the iPhone
0.42” thick and weighs about 3.5 ounces (also lighter than the iPhone), but it doesn't feel cheap
The 2” screen looks great because of its 320x240 resolution, but we wish it were larger
Overall, a very nice metallic look and feel
The keypad changes according to different features you use
Music player lights up play, forward and rewind and dims the number pad
Camera lights up zoom and playback
Motorola made the most used buttons the most accessible and it works really well
The navigation wheel works like an iPod, but since it's only a semi circle, you don't know where you are on it
Sometimes it works as intended, other times it's frustrating. You find yourself just using the directional pad
There's haptic feedback for the buttons, but not for the wheel, which is why it's confusing
The music phone interface is the easiest we've used next to the iPhone's
Arranged by artists, albums, songs, and you can make your own playlists
You can apply any song as a ringtone and you can send them via e-mail, Bluetooth or put them on a blog
Stereo Bluetooth, so you can stream to speakers
Drag and drop practically any format through Windows; no iTunes, no syncing, no hassle
If you want an awesome music phone without the expensive data plan that comes with an iPhone, buy

            Transforming the Music Experience
Motorola designed ROKR E8 to deliver an uncompromised consumer experience for music or talk. Using breakthrough ModeShift technology from Motorola, the quad-band GPRS/EDGE device presents users with only the controls they need, at the time they need them, instantly transforming from music player to phone to imaging device with the touch of a button. Simply move a thumb across the FastScroll navigation wheel to search for music (music mode), contacts (phone mode), calendar (phone mode) and multimedia (imaging mode). A perfect blend of art and science, the face of the E8 is a sleek, seamless panel that features the first haptic touch pad from Motorola, which provides vibrating, tactile feedback when the user touches virtual buttons

By mid-2004, it had posted its fourth quarterly profit in a row and by January 2005 its profits were reported to have leapt 28 per cent. There was a slump later in 2005, but by the first quarter of 2006 the news was still good, with profits continuing to rise and it had a healthy optimistic view of the global market particularly for 3G handsets.

However, recently things have not gone so well for the joint mobile phone operation. In 2007, it began to struggle. Profits started to slide as average selling prices of its handsets began to drop.

In June of this year, however, it revealed that its profits for the first quarter had crumbled by a massive 98 per cent, and in July this was followed by the announcement that it was to shed 2,000 jobs. Meanwhile, its overall position had dropped from the fourth-largest handset maker to the fifth.

I HATE MOTO. other cellphone companies are manufacturing music centered phones with focusing in the enhancements not the quality of the sound of the phone while SE is focusing on the quality of the sound
