Way too expensive!
On the today's market (US) it is worth about $170 (USD).
It is not much better than L7 which is not selling for $130.
1.9" screen too small, could be bigger even with this phone size.
2MP camera is average (see Samsung D900, or U600 - 3.2MP)
GUI and screen design are poorly done.
Features: noting outstanding - fall short of the better phones.
Thickness is unchanged (L7 vs L9) - not cool anymore. For 2007 or 2008 it should be at least 10% less - it makes a great difference, totally different feel.
So, why do we (thousands and tens of thousands of customers) pay more? Because, Motorola did a lousy upgrade (fall short of today's tech level) and the staff of 3-4 intern spend about 2 days of design work.
THIS PHONE SHOULD NOT BE VIABLE ON THE MARKET SINCE BY THE TIME ITS PRICE DROPS TO ACCEPTABLE LEVEL IT WILL BE TOTALLY OUTDATED.
(it is almost outdated now!)

Hi Moto's,
I was looking for an upgrade of my phone and was quite impressed with the launch of L9. Its having almost all the feature tat one would like to have in a good phone. But still as the review says is that it is having a slow user interface and takes sometime to load the video. I hope all these disadvantages get resolved before the retail launch.I am looking forward for more users comments on L9,if everything feels good . i'll surely go for moto.
Moto Rocksssssssssssss

Just got this phone. Solidly built. Navigation's a bit laggy at times and no minimizing the mp3 player to use other functions. Great phone overall.
Buy what you need.

Anyone wonder why you wouldn't get a Nokia 6300 with the QVGA display and smaller footprint??
