There isn't any info atm as to when it is due out in Oz unfortuantely. Since this phone is damned nice I'll keep pestering the service staff until I'm put onto a mailing list or something.

u know guys this phone won't be out for quite some time unless motorola has severly improved its development time. by the time this is out sharp, samsung and perhaps sony ericsson will have 2 or perhaps 3 megapixel phones out, that have retractable tripods and proper zoom and flash. as well as the tea making functions and VR headsets powered with ur brainwaves... this is only a thought though...

either that or just an internal camera for easy self portraits.

Why would you put a light sensor on the inside?
You put a light sensor beside the lens not on the opposite side of the camera body.
It would most likely be an internal camera to allow the video conferencing function.

that silver thingy inside is a light sensor! not another camera lens.

The Samsung E700 is definately better than this phone in terms of looks, but this is better with features. Does anyone know what the menu setup looks like or does anyone have any links to reviews on this phone that you could tell me.
Thanks

And self picture taking can now be achieved on the 256K internal screen because of the internal camera:P

I hope this phone has been fitted with a re-format capability. As current models have the "Restore Factory Settings" function, I think it is time they have a "Format Memory" setting because these things are becoming more like computers: they can be modified, get viruses, have software added/deleted, etc. When the "Format Memory" function has been activated, everything should go back to the way it was when it left the production line, from Internal software to Ringtones.
Who agrees that this would be a good idea?

Could it be that the silver thing is for self portraits?

I hope this phone has a better menu setup than other Motorola phones. I currently have a Samsung E700 which was very easy to get used to after my Nokia 3100. When using the new Motorola V525 its software and menu layout it very dissapointing looking and not very user friendly. I hope the V1000 has that problem solved.
