really a waste of money....
the worst flip fone ever...
plzzz dont go fr it...
instead go fr SE or Nokia models.. at this price range..

i think this fone is the biggest waste of money! tones r rubbish. battery dont last that long either! give me a nokia anyday!!!

Motorola V171 is capable of downloading the ringtones, the only thing your need to have is GPRS activated on your # from the service provider, then you can easily download the ringtones, i have quite a big database of ringtone for V171, in case any of you need ringtones, just mail me, i will get it for you, make sure you get GPRS activated on your #..... i m not gonna charge a single penny for any of the ringtones..... ;)

this phone is really bad. to anyone who wants it, i'd suggest you reconsider. the screen is tiny, the design is bad and it had hardly any features. I was going to get it but I then saw the Sagem myc5-2. It's $70 dollars more but worth it. It's better to spend a bit extra and get something that is good

Motorola V171 was a gift for my 12YR son. On The box it said you can down load ring tones. Well,were still trying to figure out how. NET 10 DON'T OFFER RING TONES. For $130. Dollars ring tones should be available. If anyone know how to down load rings tones please let us know.Thanks two unhappy motorola/net10 owners.

I just bought this phone a week ago for my husband after leaving "Simple Freedom Prepaid Cell Phone." With Simple Freedom, we have not been able to make outgoing calls in almost two weeks now and several calls and E-mails to customer service still hasn't gotten the issue resolved. I went out a few days ago and bought another one for mysef as well. I'm not about the frills and ringtones, all we needed was RELIABLE service and we now have it with NET 10 A side from the reliable service, I love everything about it. It's sleek and very affordable and you just can't beat the price of the minutes for the prepaid airtime cards. I'd highly recommend NET 10 to anyone!

Well, I just got off the phone with customer service for net 10 about this phone..apparently even though two different places on THEIR packaging as well as the sign above the display and the "phone expert" at wal-mart AND THE NET 10 WEB SITE ALL say this phone is capible of downloading ring tones, it's not possible to download any for it!!! Talk about false advertising!! They say that the phone itself is capible but you must have a provider..if you buy it as a pay as you go phone you cannot..even though they are advertising it that way on their net 10 package..it says nowhere that if you get a net 10 you can't..everywhere I look it says you can and even on their site it says you can. Had I known this before getting it I'd have chosen a different phone..I'm sick of these preprogrammed ones and it REALLY pisses me off that they advertise something that isn't possible for the net 10 phone. I'd advise anyone that wants to be able to personalize this phone not to buy a net 10 phone..looks like all you get really is phony advertising and lies. Thanks a lot! YOU SUCK NET 10 PHONE! DON'T ADVERTISE SOMETHING YOU CAN'T OR WON'T PROVIDE TO YOUR CUSTOMERS!!

I like the phone and all but how do you download ringtones..I'm sick of these..I want some variety. Where can I go and what do I do about finding ringtones and wallpapers and such for this phone??? Please someone help me! I NEED RINGTONES!!!! LOL, AMY.
