So overall Ikemi, would you say that the V80 is better than the K700i in terms of street cred, I mean the video recording isnt necessary, I just want a cool phone, I mean the rhythm lights are just class, what is the Caller ID like any good??

I have also just bought the Motorola Phone Tools and USB Bluetooth thumb drive package, so now I can transfer files to and from the V80 phone. Now I have various edited mp3 files set as my ringtones :P

Steven: The V80 is only capable of playing back downloaded videos, not recording them direct from the integrated camera. To be honest I doubt that the 6.5Mb capacity would last long with such a feature! The V80 also has no means of memory expansion, although because of this the unit itself is as small as the clam shell Motorola MPx200 ...

Dave: It's the ultimate pulling tool!? I've gotta give that a try sometime! :D lol

DL: Lots of lights! Although you cannot access some of them, mainly the 'white' light that activates upon the receival of a text message. However there are various other colours, colour patterns and fades/effects that are pre-set. It would be cool if someone can devise a programme (Through Bluetooth perhaps?) where the user could program their own light patterns :P
The keypad is much better than I originally expected. Texting is easy, this coming from an owner who has replaced his Nokia 6800 with flip-out QWERTY keyboard! It takes time to get used to 'what key does this' etc But the predictive messaging is very accurate.
As for the navigation stick I have had no problems in terms of durability. I do find that sometimes when I want to scroll up I inadvertently push down, which accesses the highlighted option. A little niggle, but otherwise the interface is incredibly easy allowing for many options to be performed.

To say that the phone is gay is just being immature, the lights make the phone look superb and stand out; I have had numerous women come up to me and ask about it - ultimate pulling tool! Being anti-V80 is fine but keep those sorts of stupid opinions to yourself. This website is for phone discussion and constructive criticism. Not a slagging match because you’re a Nokia or SE fan and think they are better. If you don’t have anything useful to say; don’t say it.

Can anybody advise how many colour lights does this V80 have? Will face any sms problem with the small key pads? Some bro mention that the is some problems with the durability of the joystick, can elaborate further? Wonder the photo effect will be better than SEK700 but confirm cannot compare to a N7610 with 1 mega pixel? Would appreciate any bros who can help to reply cause now really cannot decide to purchase this V80 or N7610 or wait for Samsung new slide phones models (I like Samsung clear photo effect and fantastic ringtones, only too bad not sms user friendly and without blue tooth).

If you want to shoot a picture with the v80, you have to need spastic hands. The v80 is a bit overdesigned and not that ergonomic at all.

Good arguments Dave. Indeed you can't say the v80 is better then k700 or otherwise. K700boy you have it totally wrong.

Excellent design and user friendly. By far, this is one of the best ergonomic phone i ever seen.

K700boy, there is no such thing as "the best phone" only in people's opinion's. Every phone has its own pro's and con's. Thats like saying - i own the best car....an impossible argument to win. You should try and be more open minded - there are other phones that are better and worse that others. e.g. K700 - feature phone, V80 - design phone. Enough said!

K700i is awesome, but sony-ericsson it seems has tried to squash everything in and really have keys on the phone that are really small for guys with big fingers (like myself), but anyone with small fingers will find it great.

I like the motorola V80, but it has a few problems with durability, joystick mainly (as one of my workmates found out).

7610.....exellent phone, only downfall is its size. If you are after a small phone, don't go this one, but the features are great. Great pics too.

                        All good phones though.

Can be...but the V80 is a design phone...in a month or 2 you will see everybody walking around with a K700, this one is more exclusive, and has a much better design...The cam is the same as in thee K700, The V80 kicks ass...

The k700i is the best phone you can buy at the moment. Read all the reviews/tests on the internet (mobileburn, mobile-review, gsmarena). The k700 is a winner till the s700 comes out!

No problem :) For the past three years I have used Nokia mobile phones due to the simple user interface. Upon switching to the Motorola I had no trouble at all navigating around the various features that the phone has to offer. You probably won't find it as difficult as everyone makes the operating system out to be! Enjoy your new V80 :P

To Ikemi; thanks for your answers. I buy one this week. In Germany it costs about the 380 euro included a bluetooth headset. Sounds to me a good deal. But it will taking some time to get used for the Motorola menu (not so friendly). The last Motorola ive had was in 2000.

Indeed. You can watch downloaded videos, but not actually create your own. The features of the V80 are similar, if not identical to the V600. The piano black finish does fingerprint quite easily and no cloth is supplied. However I have found my t-shirt to work effectively :P
