I just got this and i love it exept the sms wont work and ive put the sim in my old phone and it sends and then i put another different sim in the motorola v80 and it sends the sms fine.. Its really weird, i think the sim card maybe got scratched in my old phone samsung s300 and thats whats causing it not to work in the motorola

i think this is a nice phone and worth getting. i am a person who switch's cell phones every month or every time a new better one comes out, but i getting this phone and i plan to hold on to it for a while.

Motorola v80 has got some fantastic features but the problem im currently facing is that my v80 goes off on its own when you close the switch blade and i have to reboot the phone or take off the battery that is when the phone will start working again.Gauteng S.africa

Update on UK release date - should be out on an Orange contract on the 21st of June according to http://www.mobileshop.co.uk/. However it appears you can already buy it on the: Your Plan 120 tariff from http://www.phoneboxdirect.com . I am just gonna wait and buy direct from Orange as they have some good deals - 200mins anytime to anyone and 500 texts a month for £30....no bad!

wouldn't it be better if this phone is already QUADBAND?so that it can be used all over the world.that's all!!i hope that motorola will be able to bring out another mobile phone similar to V80...

It is a GSM phone so it does have international roaming. Although i think networks in the states use CDMA do they not? If they all do your snookered but i am sure their will be some networks in the states that use GSM. Now there is the matter of the SIM card....you will have to buy the phone SIM free which will cost you £100's and have to register with a US network...again i don't know if thats possible - think u should post this in a general forum where people that know about the US Mobile Phone network can help you.

okay guys im in the uk right now for vacation and i want this phone. if by some chance that it comes out when im still here could i buy the phone and would it work when i brought it back to the us?

It can transfer pics via bluetooth. And yes it is based on the V600/500 software. So its very similar.

Strange as i thought the V80 has the same software set up as the V600, V500 models and according to a web review http://www.mobile-review.com/review/motorola-vx00-2-en.shtml there was no problem transfering data to a PC via bluetooth.

hey guyz, I think you all might wan to think twice b4 you buy this phone...V80's cannot send picture via bluetooth, they have to be transfer to a pc via usb...

Yeah fantastic phone, just wished Motorola could have squeezed in a MegaPixel camera...there will be quite a few of those phones out by the end of the year...atleast my phone will still look better than them tho :)

Good stuff - i will be getting a call from orange soon then about getting my new phone. Btw it takes usually a week after the release date for the phone to come out on Orange as it needs to be branded and extra features added. Also i said "by" the end of the month not "at" - Orange never give exact dates.
