To set date/time you need to go to Time and date under settings/intial setup and then untick 'auto adjustment' then the date/time change buttons appear. Took me a while to figure it out!

With Reference from Joe @ 2006-12-25 23:23 & Vikas @ 2006-12-25 10:40 regarding AMR format (MP3 Like).
I just found out that the AMR files are approximately 10 times smaller than MP3 encoded files. Therefore I believe that 500KB of memory was given based on compact AMR tones in mind. However, unfortunately no one so far has posted on this forum that AMR tone can be used as ringtone. Only Vikas has stated that the mobile rejected AMR for ringtone setting. I hope Vikas can explain or tell in detail about the error when using AMR file as ringtone. Since connectivity is not a feature in this mobile to test, the only way to get an AMR tone in is by GPRS or by MMS. I will transfer an AMR tone by 1 week’s time for R&D. Hope my theory works. Till then, if anyone has any bright ideas; just post it here!
P.S. Here is the link for converting MP3 files to AMR files. AMR files are not easily playable in many audio players like Winamp for e.g.

So you would need to open the phone to see who is ringing and then keep it open if you do not want to answer... that's strange...

I have Motorola W220, the phone is working good but the main problem is in this phone, when i go in roaming areas the phone is automaticly goes in other network (after selected manual fuction). But this condition made be in Automatic Fuction. So why select other network in manual condition. I pay for this service to SIM service provider.

I have checked the manual, there isn't any option to disable this "automatic hangup function".
This is my major disappointment about w220, otherwise it would be a nice phone.

Are you guys sure that it cannot be turned off that you 'deny call' when you fold down the phone and not answer the call?
On most phones it can be turned off so you can fold down the phone without inpolitely rejecting the call.

guys belive me i lost 725 bucks due to this "kachra" phone.....i purchased it cause of its low price and gud built.....next day whn i was taking my bath....i got 6 miss calls but guys u know when i tried to see who made me miss calls i got shocked to see the call records......thousands years backward technology.....u cn nt even see who gave u hw many miss calls u cn just see the total miss calls regardless the detailing of callers....
i tried to adjust with problem but my dreams were shattered again whn i come to that whn phone is ringing nd i open the flip to see the caller nd wanted to pretend tht i m away frm phone nd naturally without answering i just closed the flip,to my worst nightmare this piece of shi.... auto cut the callers party call impolitely......i seached the whole menu to change this option.......but later i contacted the dealer.....he told me tht this is the best thing in this phone, u dont need to cut the call it auto cut the phone when u just make flip close......
i torn out my several hair, i just tht piece of shi.. nd he refunded me 3200 bucks which i purchased for 3925...
this costs me 725 for two dys use....
i later came to know tht same problem prevails in v3i nd other similar range phones.....
its like a tie up between us govt nd motorola to give india nd other developing countries worst out of worst technology.......

I know that when you have a missed call or missed SMS the lights on the front of the phone flash for half an hour.
But does it make a noise, eg every 5 minutes, to audibly alert you to a missed call / message?
