However the chipset is OLD (dual core 1.2)
Any resolution above of native resolution can be displayed.
Lets say you have a movie in 1080p and your display is 720p.
It will play but in 720p resolution.
Point is... lets say you have a 4K screen but a movie in 720p.
It will also play but in 720p.
I just love XOOM2 because it have IR port (not that common) and HDMI output and that's awesome. More over... I do have its docking and it allow you to have 3 USB port (but even without you can use a USB pendrive because its USB host OnTheGo).
I use mine every single by in my desk as my media player.
Just a tip... dual core 1.2 is SLOW so movies with high rate compaction will flick.
So, convert to MP4 and try to keep the resolution.
If you find one in good condition, go for it or tell me, PLEASE.
I will use my XOOM 2 until it became completelly UNUSABLE (even if the LCD break you can also use it on TV with a bluetooth mouse keyboard.
Believe me... like Terminator used to say
"OLD. NOT OBSOLETE"

I have this device, but mine is not activating and also not recorgnising the sim card sloted into it, and which other way can someone use to charge apart from that pin charger?

CGH, 04 Apr 2013I'm using MZ616, it does have micro-sd slot. :)mine is xoom 2 mz616...it does have a sd card and a data sim card...i love my xoom 2:)

i bought this tablet as a secong hand and so far soooo good, i love everything about it even if i cant get a cover for it here in South Africa. the shape is wat i fell in love with in the first place and it woprks perfectly.

-the sim card slot can ONLY be used for DATA TRANSFER..

AnonD-45609, 08 Mar 2012thick as a brick...you can buy this tab for under $300 aud now, which for the money is very good value regardless of all the negative nit picking issues other users are mentioning.Hell if ya not happy spend more money and enjoy whatever you get but this Tablet is fine for the right price.Note its initial price here was $749 which was way too much.

- lacks a good music app
- radio stations do not work properly after ICS update (streaming)
- does not support Smartactions and Motoblur ( I think its an alternative to Find My iPhone on IOS)
And I'm finding it difficult to find a folio or cover for this model. Dimensions differ from other XOOM models like Xyboard. Motorola seems to be experimenting at the buyers expense when it needs to deliver the goods.
Beware if you buying.
