It is possible to bring them back by update the GSM package. you may download the package and follow the instructions here (in Chinese)

Guys i have a xt701 i bought from china, do u guys know whether i can install the android market in my fone cz i did nt cme with it.
or wud it be possible to change my entire OS to default setting with market and google maps???

Just got the last copy at the network I'm using, and with discount it cost me US$357. (vs. US$434 as the suggested price) The only reason is I like all these apps but keep running out of space on my Milestone & Cliq, and Defy won't be available at least til Dec. So...

It's 3.5G. I have had mine two weeks and absolutely love this phone. Look it up on wiki if you don't know what 3.5G is.

It finally came in ,I love everything about this phone ,the only set back was setting up internet , and MMS for AT&T for some reason the settings were different instead of putting wap.cingular / had to put w***cingular ,it must have something to do with the moto APN control feature that switches between carriers on this phone but I added the widget to my home screen to display the AT&T alpha tag because it only displays it while the phone is locked ehh...

just order mine yesterday from this site www.newayci.com ,they are a company in canada if you are in the market of getting this phone and want the north american version with english menus you should check it out, and the price is lower than any i found on the other sites that offered the chinese version,it took a lot of tiresome internet searching before i found it, hope this helps everybody

I want to buy this phone and i want to know how long the battery last? How is the performance? and any problems with it or not? is it worth to buy or not? Coz this is the cheapest android phone in Phnom Penh (Cambodia) and I'm afraid this is a piece of crap like Nokia . Thanks everybody

This is one of the few unlocked Android phones that work on AT&T 3G, in the United States.
And to those who think this phone won't be updated to Froyo; you're wrong. Patience is a virtue.

Don't buy this phone - it is crap! The camera is noisy as hell, nothing close to other cell phones cameras. They used a cheap sensor hoping people in Asia don't care about video quality. Also it will never be updated to 2.2 as I just learned.

However you can download from the market other keyboards for several languages (i use smart keyboard for spanish language input, specially because of character punctuations) but it lacks with built in dictionary probably because of being a free app. But thats not a problem at all.

Even without, it should be a great phone. (I'm using its "brother" Milestone running on 2.1...still runs greate!)

You can buy from many occidental distribuitors (amazon, integron technologies, etc) so the shipping may vary according to each site policy.
