Does it really have a Digital compass inside ? I can't find any menu to calibrate it. I had Motorola BackFlip before, and it has the menu to calibrate its Digital compass.
Thank you.

Hi,
I just got my X701 recently, and saw one problem after used it. The problem I saw is that the phone responded that it can not connect to the server when I clicked "Check update" ( this is for the system update) , which can be found at 'setup'-> 'about the phone'.
I have tried many times via WI-FI or AT&T 3G, and the response is always the same. Do you have the same problem ?
Thank you.

Maybe someone can help me. I just purchased this phone as unlocked, but have not been able to read the HSDPA 850 network which is the only way I can get 3G in my country (Costa Rica). Right now I am connected to the 2G network, but the odd thing is that it displays the roaming indicator, which makes me think it is partially locked and therefore still trying to connect to original carrier. Has someone ever heard of this situation?

moto-user, 20 Jun 2010thanks friend becose i want to purchase this phone! you kno... moreThe camera on the XT701 is a little better for low light photos than the Milestone in my opinion, but it's close. Over time I've found I'm using the virtual keyboard more than the mechanical one on the Milestone. I came from an E71 and had a preference, but the virtual kb is fast and now, a little easier for me. I have big fingers and an Otter box case on the Milestone, that reduces the range on the top row of keys. So the lack of keyboard isn't an issue on the XT and overall it's also thinner and lighter. I'm in the USA, so there's a lack of cases and screen covers presently, but that should change in time. For me the XT was also less expensive. Again, I've limited myself to phones I can use on At&T...

Sam, 17 Jun 2010for my knowledge AT&T uses 3G (850&1900) and Tmobil... moreHi all. I've seen this question come up a few times and in fact I had the same one, until I committed and bought an XT701. The one I have from a vendor in FL, purchased off of Ebay, DOES operate on HSPDA, and 3G on At&T's network. The vendors on Ebay have all manner of compatible frequencies listed but I agree with Sam, that there's only 1 HK model and it does work well with At&T. I'm comparing to a Telus Milestone and all works well. For what it's worth, the build quality is very good, aesthetics/feel are great and I haven't had any problems. It shipped with Android 2.1 and while you have to make a few adjustments in settings for querty and English menus, it's a snap. Also, I have full market place access. Here's link to help others: http://forum.androidcentral.com/other-android-devices/14216-got-my-xt701-lots-pics.html
If you like touch screens and want an alternative to the Iphone, it might be worth a look. I'm happy so far.. Cheers

I am also interested in this phone. But, I saw one or two sellers said this phone can't work with AT&T 3G network because it only supports 2100 rate. Is this correct ? I am not sure how many version of XT701 Motorola provided??
Thank you.
