Rooted with JB 4.1.2 have all google services. Try search root xt928 4.1.2 go to chinese web and use google translate. There are 4 steps to get it done.

I am in the US and I intend to use my XT928 both in the US and around the world. I think it is a wonderful phone. I have used HTC and Samsung, and even the MB855, but this is the best. I am so happy to read that you rooted you XT928 which I own one. Please tell, did you have to root this phone to get it to run Play Google? And what rooting program did you use as I have never rooted before. I don't want to run the risk of damage to the phone. Thanks

Now I got this phone. It is beautiful and very powerful. It works great in both Chinese or English. Does anybody know how I can download my software fro play google to this phone. Or do I need to root it before I can do that? thanks all

Battery is very bad. Cdma data often lost while browsing. Replaced battery with after market 2400mah one, now running smooth. Rooted and installed google play also. its an awesome device now.
