if you want to compare 2 or more photos from different handset, all you have to consider is, the media where the pictures you want to compare are placed, light conditions of the pictures, and the resolution of the pics.
lights conditions here meant, when you compare 2 handset, you have to take picture in the same time, and same angle, so we have 2 identical picture from 2 different handset with nearly same conditions.

if you want to compare 2 or more photos from different handset, you have to compare it on same media, such as, same display, same paper or something else.
and one think, you have to take the same objects, same time (time when we take the pictures), same angle, and same light condition.

Anonymous, 30 Jul 2008Hahaha... It's funny and silly comment. Read carefully my c... moreHahaha, another laughable excuse. Why give example with a non imaging-savvy phone?? LOL. Did you actually compare Motorola Kodak 5MP camera-phone with Samsung's VGA camera?? It seems like you don't read my post carefully.

Hahaha... It's funny and silly comment. Read carefully my comment:
Some brand has cheating the customers. When you take a photo and look in the phone screen is look great but when you print have really bad photos. That's possible happen in the screen with 16 million colours. Compare after you print your photos with same angle, same situation and same times.
You want fact? OK, you buy Samsung Mobile Phone with 16 million colours phone and VGA Camera Phone. After that take a picture and then you print. Now you compare the print with in the screen with 16 million colours. You can find in the screen is really bright but in the print is really different.
Motorola Z8 and Motorola Z10 is not camera phone. Motorola Z10 is Motorola Video Camera Phone but you must remember "that's not Motorola Kodak Camera Phone".
Motorola ZN5 is the first Motorola Kodak Camera Phone and that's mean focus to camera quality. Photo in Mobile Review is using really old firmware Motorola ZN5 but the result is Motorola ZN5 better than Nokia N82.
Not only Mobile Review, nearly 80% mobile phone website who give comparison between Motorola ZN5 vs Nokia N82 has same opinion with Mobile Review says Motorola ZN5 much better than Nokia N82.

I'm not bashing. But giving such an unreasonable excuse like "other company with 16m colour display is cheating the customer..." The fact is that smaller displays (dimension-wise and resolution-wise) do not show details as good as the bigger ones. To be fair, as the reviews says, Motorola Z8 and Z10 don't have the camera to proud of; and the images taken by ZN5 don't look as good as N82's "IF" you're going to print them out (source: mobile-review). Such excuse is silly, and you know that.

I'm sure as hell if motorola did come up with a 16m colour display, you wouldn't make up that silly excuse. LOL.

Yes it is true. I got an answer. Info comes from a Motorola partner with their presentation. The secret is over.
Lens/optics= Carl-Zeiss*
Hardware (sensor)= Nikon
Software= Kodak
* ZN5 cannot be advertised together with Carl-Zeiss, because Nokia has license for this exklusive contract and Carl-Zeiss label on the phone.

Nokia has Toshiba as manufacturer and of course Carl-Zeis lens if I'm not wrong. So every big camera phone has big manufacturer in the background. But ZN5 should indeed overtake the N95 and N82 in photo quality. At least with some optimizations september/october. Time will tell.
