1)why is nec525 not compartible wiht the mtn internate network in cameroon.
2)Why a cumbersome procedure to download information from a computer while other phones have very simple procedures?

Does anyone know how to delete phone books entries? When I click on edit there is no option to delete any entry. Thanks

I have had my phone for the past 3-4 years, and I love it, the only thing I took some photos and i would like to down load them on my computer. does this phone require a cable or does ot have the bluethoot system. How can i get to print my picture from the phone

I've had this phone (USA version N525) for over 4 years now and it still works as well as the first day I got it. Started using it with an AT&T SIM back in 2003 and just recently switched to a Cingular SIM about a month ago and no problems whatsoever. Amazingly the battery which is also over 4 yrs old still has good charge capacity.
I've dropped this phone on the ground about 5 times during the past 4 years and it's still in one piece with no cracks only minor scratches. I've also used this phone overseas in Asia after unlocking with a prepaid SIM and it was flawless.
It has great features and a good camera at the time it came out in 2003. Also has a great large and bright LCD screen too.
The only minor drawbacks about this phone are:
1. No speakerphone
2. No Bluetooth
3. Phone is thick
4. No MP3 ringtones
You have to remember that this phone came out in 2003 so the lack of those features are understandable. The sucessor to this phone (N535M) was basically the same phone with a Megapixel camera vs VGA, and was downgraded to Triband from Quadband.

I was just reading some comments people had about this fone and i was quite shocked at how much people didn't like it.I bought as my first fone and i thought it was absolutely great it did everything i wanted it to and more-not only did i have space for all my fone numbers but i could assign each with a different LED colour, picture and ringtone for incoming calls/texts, i had voice activated dialling for 10 numbers, voice memos and to do lists. The camera could be better quality but if i was in good light the pictures turned out really well, it had a self timer so i could take pictures with the second screen, add frames and change to black and white or sepia tones to take pictures.I had space for upto 400 messages, could send picture messages and connect to the web.It was a brilliant fone but i accidently broke and am currently using one that is no where near as good. The only bad thing i have to say about this fone is that i could not transfer my fotos to my computer via the infared port it only transferred text information and there was no other way of transferring my fotos other than that i think this is a brilliant fone and I'm sorry all you other users didn't like it.

Please, can someone tell me thru my email how to save numbers in the sim card not on the phone itself.
Not having network always, battery running low so quick infact not a good one.

hi i have just bought this phone and i m feeling so much so unlucky i fall in love with tyhe phone after seeimg it by the frist time perhaps a love at first sight it was but i had no idea bout the poor quality of the cell phone guys if u ask me dont buy this phone the wrost phone inthis whole wide world

This is one of the worst models on the market,battery dont last long,cant hear person on the other end of the phone,picture not clear,only good thing about this is the screen

can somebody please tell me what is wrong with this phone please? i just can't hear anything at all..not even phone calls and messages alerts..it just vibrates but it doesn't help..i've missed out how many important calls, etc...help please!!! thanks and have a nice day..

Hi all u NEC users out there. I think that NEC is a great phone with fantastic specs. but my problem is that i am unable to use the MMS and IR receive. Can anyone out there please help me. thanks val.

Great Phone, but suddenly having prob with texting. Takes the number entry OK, but when wanting to input text, "ERROR" message comes up. Can anyone advise? I am typically Blonde, and have technical deficiency. HELP.

I was annoyed at how the features dont seem to work together. Does anyone know how to take an incoming SMS number and add it to the phone book, for example?
What about a redial button or feature... is there one hidden here somewhere?

The software you need (if you have an usb cable) to transfer data from phone to pc and from pc to phone is here: http://www.nechdm.com/memory_editor.asp . It`s Nec Memory Editor Software. You`ll also need the Nec Usb Driver: http://www.nechdm.com/gprs/UsbDriverVer1-1-1.zip . And i encourage you to read http://www.nechdm.com/downloads/525%20Memory%20Editor%20UG_XP.pdf first, so you won`t encounter any problems. Then you can upload to your phone any .mid ringtones, and photos, i`m not sure about games tough. Good luck!

Can anyone point me in the direction of where to get replacement (s) for both the screens on this phone. My brother broke the internal one :( and the external one stopped working :(
