New bands for large wrists now available for the Apple Watch

Vlad, 14 August, 2015

Apple has started selling a few new bands for its first smartwatch today. They mostly cater to people with large wrists.

There's a new L/XL size Sports Band to be had, in either black or white. This fits wrists that are 195 to 245mm in size. The new Link Bracelet Kit adds an extra 40mm of length to the 42mm metal bands, again striving to fit ever larger wrists, up to 245mm.

The previous largest Sports Band size was M/L, which only went from 160 to 210mm. The new Link Bracelet Kit and the L/XL Sports Band are each priced at $49, with shipping in 5-7 business days.

Additionally, Apple has made the standalone Modern Buckle bands for 38mm stainless steel Watches available for $249. These will ship in late August, possibly around the 24th. They have been announced alongside the Apple Watch itself, but have so far not been up for grabs.
