Google has announced a new update for the Drive that is aimed at making it easier and faster for you to search your files stored on the company's cloud storage service. It also brings along new ways to get more specific results.

To make your search experience even better, the Drive app on Android, iOS, and the Web will now let you narrow your search to a specific file type from the search box. You'll also be able to access advanced search instantly from the search box.

On iOS, the updated app will also allow you to access recent files or search Drive from the home screen using 3D Touch. You'll also be able to perform a search operation using the iOS search bar without opening the app.

To get more specific results, the updated app will now let you search for shared files by file owner using their name or email address. You'll also be able to use advanced search options like file modification date, people it was shared with, or words it contains.

The update will be rolled out in the coming weeks.
