New iQOO Neo9S Pro upgrades to the Dimensity 9300+, keeps the same price

At the very end of last year, iQOO unveiled the Neo9 and Neo9 Pro. The Pro model is equipped with a Dimensity 9300 chipset and had a starting price (for a 12/256GB phone) of CNY 3,000. As you may have heard, MediaTek introduced a plus version of Dimensity 9300 and some phones are getting a mid-season refresh with it.

The new iQOO Neo9S Pro is one such phone, though there is no vanilla model this time around. iQOO partnered with the NBA for this launch and buyers can win tickets for the NBA finals. Partner retailers in China start taking pre-orders today.

The upgrade to Dimensity 9300+ aside, the new S-phone still uses the Q1 chip that iQOO developed in-house to improve the gaming experience by providing a more stable frame rate. The GPU of the 9300+ is the same as on the 9300, it’s the CPU and APU that were boosted.

The chipset is paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.

The display is a 144Hz LTPO OLED with a 6.78” diagonal and 1,260 x 2,800px resolution (20:9). The display uses 2,160Hz high frequency PWM dimming. The camera punch holed into the display is the same 16MP module as before

Around the back, the Neo9S Pro are a pair of 50MP cameras on the back with the main module using a Sony IMX920 sensor. The back shows off the new “Star White” colorway, the glass has a soft satin finish. The plain black colorway is still available, as is the red/white one with a faux leather back and decorative stitching.

Like on the original, the battery has 5,160mAh capacity and is super fast to charge at 120W (but there is no wireless charging).

The new S-model borrows one more thing from the original Neo9 Pro – the price. The base model starts at CNY 3,000 (which converts to $415/€380/₹35,250). There are more variants: 12/512GB for CNY 3,300, 16/512GB for CNY 3,600 and 16GB/1TB for CNY 4,000.

There’s no word on whether the Neo9S Pro will be available globally. Note that the original Neo9 Pro was announced in China at the end of December, then in February another iQOO Neo9 Pro came along, this time with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and an ₹34,000 price tag for an 8/128GB phone (it made its debut in India).

Anyway, you can find the new iQOO Neo9S Pro over on Tmall.
