New license deal reached by Apple and Ericsson ends a patent feud that started in 2015
Apple and Ericsson are ending a years-long patent feud beginning with a new license deal between the two companies. According to a new report from Reuters, Ericsson announced it had reached a global patent license agreement with Apple which includes “global cross-licenses for patented cellular standard-essential technologies.”

The new licensing agreement comes after years of legal patent disputes between Apple and Ericsson. Back in 2015, Apple sued Ericsson for allegedly demanding excessive royalties for LTE technology. Later that year, Ericsson and Apple settled that dispute. Fast-forward to this year, Apple and Ericsson sued each other over 5G patents and equipment.
The settlement ends all ongoing patent-related legal disputes between the parties.
With the new agreement, Ericsson's Q4 forecast for revenue from intellectual property rights (including Apple and others) is estimated to be between SEK 5.0 billion and 5.5 billion ($530.3 million – $578.5 million).

Apple wants to copy, buy, and steal everything while putting the most absurd mark ups on them. Yet it's wrong if they don't like the price when it costs them🙄🙄
