New Oppo K12x arrives in India with military-grade body

Oppo K12x 5G was just launched in India and it has little to do with the phone of the same name in China. The new arrival borrows the design of the Oppo K12 but has a slightly different footprint. The new phone has a Mediatek chipset and a new set of cameras and is also more durable, as it passed MIL-STD-810H shock-resistance test.

The Oppo K12x has a 6.67" LCD with HD+ resolution and up to 120 Hz refresh rate. Oppo said this is the first phone in its segment with Splash Touch technology, which allows you to operate the screen with wet hands while the panel is also wet.

The chipset here is a Dimensity 6300, and Oppo offers the phone with either 6/128 GB or 8/256 GB memory. RAM can be expanded virtually, while storage can be expanded by up to 1 TB via a hybrid dual slot that can fit a micro SD card or a second nano SIM slot.

The phone has IP54 certification that protects the phone from water and dust. It's military-grade durability was tested in Oppo labs, where it passed a 1.4-meter drop on all six sides and four corners onto a marble floor.

The phone is also impressively thin - just 7.68 mm, with the camera bump protruding ever so slightly. Its body weighs 186 grams and has a plastic frame on all sides.

The battery has 5,100 mAh capacity and support for 45W SuperVOOC charging. It is promised to last for over four years, retaining at least 80% of its initial capacity.

On the back you have a 32 MP f/1.8 main camera and a 2 MP depth sensor. On the front you get a basic 8 MP f/2.0 selfie camera.

Oppo K12x runs Color OS 14 on top of Android 14.

Oppo K12x 5G is available in Breeze Blue and Midnight Violet. Prices are INR12,999 ($155/€145) or INR15,999 ($190/€175), depending on storage, and will start selling on August 2 at Flipkart, Oppo India and select offline stores.
