New QWERTY idea - LG F9100

29 Dec, 2004

The Federal Communications Commission's site today revealed information of a GSM phone - the LG F9100, featuring a unique QWERTY keyboard that is very suitable for IM (instant messaging) as well as text messaging. When closed, the phone looks like a usual bar phone, and the QWERTY keyboard slides of the right side of the phone. LG F9100 will be available from Cingular Wireless. The phone size and weight are not known, however it is official that the LG F9100 will be quad-band (850/900/1800/1900 MHz). It also has an internal antenna and Java support, color display but lacks camera and Bluetooth support.

Other similar models with QWERTY keyboards are Siemens SK65, Motorola A630 and Nokia 6820 and each one of them is offering a different solution to fit the keyboard.
