New Sony infographic reveals the journey of each Android software rollout
Many people complain about how long it takes entities that aren't Google to update their Android devices to the newest versions of the OS. After the new release is already available on Pixels and Nexuses, a few months usually pass before the likes of Samsung, Huawei, and Sony roll out the same Android version to their products.
Today Sony wants to explain why these things take so long, and it's doing that through an infographic (what else?). The company says it knows how exciting it is for its customers to have "a shiny new version of Android" breathing new life into their devices.
Sony thinks it has made "positive strides" over the past couple of years in delivering more timely updates, and in fact it's already released the Android 8.0 Oreo build for the Xperia XZ Premium. If you're still intrigued as to why that didn't appear sooner, have a look at "The Journey of an Android Software Rollout" infographic below.
