Himanshu, 02 September, 2016

Verizon has pushed out a new update to Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge units on its network. Carrying a software version of VRU2APG5, the update brings along improvements to HD Voice performance as well as support for NextRadio and Barcode Beaming for UPC codes.

HD Voice-related improvements include reduced call drops and "improvements to prevent the device from unintentional powering off and restarting."

Moving on, "the latest software update unleashes the FM tuning capabilities of your Galaxy S7," the change-log says. "You'll be able to see, hear, and interact with your favorite local radio stations with apps such as NextRadio."

As for Barcode Beaming Service, the change-log says it eliminates the need for a separate barcode scanner app on your phone. The service "improves the recognition rate of your favorite on-device coupons, loyalty cards, tickets and more!"
