iQOO Pad2 and Pad2 Pro debut

As expected, iQOO Pad2 and Pad2 Pro made their official debuts in China today. Both devices feature the same basic design with the Pro model featuring a larger 13-inch IPS LCD with 2,064 x 3,096px resolution, 144Hz refresh rate and 3:2 aspect ratio. Pad2 gets a 12.1-inch IPS LCD with 1,968 x 2,800px resolution, 144Hz refresh rate and 7:5 aspect ratio. Pad 2 Pro has eight speakers with surround sound while Pad2 uses a six-speaker setup.

The two tablets also feature different chipsets with the Pro model utilizing the Dimensity 9300+ SoC while Pad2 opts for the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. Pad2 Pro gets up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage while Pad2 tops out at 12/512GB.

Both tablets feature front and back cameras with a 5MP selfie cam and 8MP rear camera on the Pad 2 and an 8MP selfie shooter and 13MP rear cam on the Pad 2 Pro. Pad2 Pro features a 11,500 mAh battery with 66W charging while Pad2 opts for a 10,000 mAh cell and 44W speeds. Both devices boot OriginOS 4 based on Android 14.

iQOO Pad2 and Pad2 Pro come in Silver, Blue and Gray colors.Pricing for Pad2 starts at CNY 2,499 ($350) for the 8/128GB trim and goes up to CNY 3,399 ($478).

Pad2 Pro is priced at CNY 3,399 ($478) in its 8/256GB trim and tops out at CNY 4,099 ($576) for the 16/512GB version.

7:5 aspect ratio? If you do the maths, that works out at 12.6:9 (or 1.4:1). That means the vanilla version has a taller screen than the Pro version with a 3:2 aspect ratio (13.5:9 or 1.5:1). Quite an odd decision that one.
