Very basic phone for small needs , still battery holds for more than one day and everything works like it should. That´s the good think about having a stock android phone, it won´t fill your phone with updates. I´m surprised for how long it lasts.

They don´t make phones like this anymore

Ikobp, 13 Nov 2020Hello all. My mom is using this phone almost 2 years but... moreI think that I would suggest a reset back to factory settings, then reload only the apps that you actually need. You would need to backup the photos that you need first and make sure that any contact info is saved in Google rather than only on the phone.
I have been using this phone for nearl two years and I find it very good.

      Hello all.

My mom is using this phone almost 2 years but after last update battery cant hold whole day. I checked non app is using battery in background. Also what i noticed it is always warm even if she is not using it. I tried restart battery (10 sec power off button hold) it was ok one week and after that it back to fast battery drain. She is only using Viber and FB. Have anyone idea what to do? Same experience?

She loves this phone but if we can’t fix it she need to change it

It freezes, turns itself off, emails freeze, the phone doesn't ring even when it's turned up loud, notifications never come through. I could go on, but i think you get my drift!
First and last Motorola i'll ever own, i'll be going back to Samsung very very soon.

My first Motorola phone, it lasted 2 years and keeps on going without any performance problems, overheating or sudden shut downs. I didn't made any updates, I stick with android 8 and it worked good. Now I tried the 9 for curiosity sake and it works fine, maybe a bit faster.
Great practical phone, I love Motorola's Moto actions(check that out), battery life is super, fast charging, camera is not that great of course especially in low light. Anyway I would definitely recommend this phone.

Just a testament to the phone that ended my daily smartphone battery life fears. The phone is still usable two years on, however the major drawback of this phone will probably haunt me later when I see the two years I had with a really bad camera. The camera is so bad you swear it is to make the phone less desirable. And sadly g7s got the same hardware on the cheaper options like the play and whatever they were named.

Every phone and brand I have had has had a drawback, really, my next one will probably be another small one like the pixel 3a, I fear I will gain an amazing camera but lose a monster battery life. My battery might have degraded, but it does not affect my days with 4-6h screen time and the first phone in ages I did not buy a spare battery for.

This phone is also splash proof and the first phone to fall out of my pocket and get trapped for several minutes in freshwater with no issues. 3a will have none of that, but that was an outlier thing.

It's a great phone considering the price m

Less than two years and the phone locks up almost daily, very slow. From the very beginning it was difficult to talk on because the sound is distorted and very low quality. Using speakerphone is useless because nobody can hear you. Very very disappointed in this phone.

Compliment ...I got my Moto G6 play from my UK, it's about 2years now but I can't send sms. What's the reason and possible solution?

Will be 2 years in August.
When I bought it ,it was so awesome for the price, smooth and I liked how it offered screen In screen option for maps and YouTube in USA. Very convenient.
This days it's become a bit slow. Not sure it's my fault. As I download lot of torrents and third party apps and I use it with 64gb mem card. Format it every 3 months on an average. Booting time is really bad. I fear accidentally restarting, coz it takes around 10 minutes to restart. If the apps don't become too slow I might keep using it for more than 2 years. The battery hasn't gone bad yet . And when I finally upgrade after a long time , that feeling will be awesome.

I wonder if my contact with lenovo support center had anything to do with it . Let's see how it behaves. Still a great phone

I have had a G6 Play for a couple of years now and recently purchased a G-6 as well. I am very happy with it, it's performance and it's battery life and speaker sound. I'm not a power user but I do a lot with this phone and for the price it simply can not be beat. The G-phone product line has been rated one of the best phones in it's price range for consistently now for at least the last two years by almost every established respected Tech journal mag out there. The only problem I am aware of is it's wireless speed. Lately, both my G6 and the G6 play only transmits at a speed of about 48 mbps. This has been a known issue for a little while now and so far there is no fix. In my day to day use I haven't noticed a difference in performance but I can see that being an issue for many power user. However, power users would be better served by a flag ship model anyhow.

Motorola G6 Play is not worth it, too slow. Slow right out of the box. 1 year later and it is almost unusable\. There are hardly apps on it, has plenty of storage remaining (

I hated this phone for the first couple months i owned it. I bought it to replace my broken Galaxy S9. It failed to stand up to the challenge... at first.
I have the 2gb ram version on Verizon (not VerizonPrepaid) and the service sometimes goes out. But my real problem was the lag/apps not responding. So i added an SD card, and selected the option to format the sd card as internal storage, and moved my apps/files to sd card. I already had enabled 'force apps to sd card' through the Developer Options.
I also added Evie Launcher, which helped the home interface feel faster.
I bought the phone after seeing reviews that it was the best budget phone available, i used it for a couple months and hated it, made a couple changes to how i have it set up, and now its everything is much more responsive(keyboard, fingerprint sensor, app loading, internet page loading, youtube videos, etc). I can confirm the other reviews, it is indeed a great budget phone, feels more like a solid mid-tier device.
