Samsung Galaxy A23 is the latest to receive One UI 6.1 update

Samsung's relentless software update march continues, bringing One UI 6.1 to more and more devices - and hitting lower and lower price points in the process. Today, the update has started rolling out to the Galaxy A23, a lower-midrange phone from two years ago.

Since this isn't part of the company's flagship lines, it will of course skip the Galaxy AI features that headlined the introduction of One UI 6.1 alongside the Galaxy S24 family earlier this year.

Even so, there should be plenty of bug fixes and performance enhancements packed inside. The update is currently only available in Samsung's native South Korea, but it will surely spread to other locales very soon.

It arrives over-the-air as a 2GB download, and upon installation the Korean A23 model will be running software version A235NKSU5EXE3. The build number will vary across the world, depending on location, by the way. Also note that so far the update has only been released for the 4G version of the A23. The 5G-capable model will probably follow soon.

A23 4G uses eMMC.

Aren't Samsung devices all UFS? Only example of eMMC was on some abysmal android GO phones.

I'd rather using a lag-free phone running on Android 13 rather than a laggy phone running on Android 14. *cough* eMMC *cough cough*
