PainSama, 14 Jan 2024which is preferrable between this phone and the s10 lite? Lite

Just switched from redmi 9a to this phone

For a phone that's 5 years old it's crazy fast with a great camera

Battery is a bit of a letdown but it's perfect everywhere else, definitely worth it if you're not a gamer

Hi everyone does samsung s10e has dual vidéo recording or defectors view ??!! 🤔🤔

AC, 24 Jan 2024Amen, not sure what I should be looking at for upgrading it... moreSize is the hardest part to find nowadays for sure. I think the Sony Xperia 5 V is the smallest with "flagship" class chipset, but it caps out at 8GB RAM same as the S10e, despite being released in 2023. The Zenfone series seems determined to maintain the headphone jack and has more memory option, but no expansion. The Xperia is over 10mm taller but similar in width and thickness, while the Zenfone maintains a very similar footprint to the S10e.

When you get well over 6in screens though, you have tons of options in the midrange but the nicer chipsets are still usually missing the ports :(

AC, 24 Jan 2024Amen, not sure what I should be looking at for upgrading it... moreI'm looking at the standard S20 5G as an upgrade. I still love my S10e because it still has the 3.5mm jack. And I also like the button side fingerprint reader. But I definitely don't want to lose memory card ability. The S20 5G still has memory card but no jack. Which I can learn to live without or get a USB-C audio adapter. Also it's still just under 6" in height which is the max height I like my phones.

I think I can still run it 1-2 more years, but it's annoying that all other phones are so large and also, no more SD card and no more headphone jack... S24 doesn't look too bad (not much larger overall), but still miss those old features. And yes, the 10e has an amazingly effective side fingerprint scanner - phone unlocks instantly as I grip it or pull it out of the pocket!

PainSama, 14 Jan 2024which is preferrable between this phone and the s10 lite? Can't speak for the Lite, however I have the 10e and the biggest downside is the battery life. It is definitely not stellar! The Lite being a device with an overall bigger battery I assume it would last longer. For me personally I don't care about the battery because I went with the S10e looking for a compact phone and the Lite is substantially larger.

I've had this phone for a year now and holy hell it's good. I have the one with the exynos processor and it's smooth even on heavier tasks, the screen is bright and sharp and the phone feels good on the hand. I've used this phone in the rain, more than -20°c in winter, sauna (80-120°c) and beach in extremely high tempatures and the battery life hasn't dropped in any kind of way. You can literally throw this phone in the snow and come back next day to find out it works all fine if you just charge it. I'd say this is one of the best samsung phones I've had (this wins the note 10 and note 20 ultra in my opinion.)

Actually this is starting to get a bit too difficult, so maybe I'll look at a J7 Pro or some other brand instead...thanks for all your input though.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 2024Technically U should work as long as it's unlocked.Interesting, most of the sellers of unlocked U models I'm trying on eBay are all saying that the radio isn't available.

As for band coverage, Galaxy S phones in general support almost all bands used worldwide, but you can verify if the correct bands are listed on the specifications page.

Jay, 31 Dec 2023I did want a smaller phone, hence why asking about this one... moreActually, disregard - I re-read your comment. Yes it seems like for any phone released from 2020 or 2021 onwards Samsung removed the FM radio functionality.
Hence why I'm trying to find something older (and smaller than the A41).
I'm doing a bit of research into the U variant - hopefully that leads me somewhere good.
It also has to be a phone that works with the correct bands here too (NZ).
