The Truecaller Assistant that was announced last September and was available in a few countries, including the US and Australia, has finally launched in India.

The Truecaller Assistant is an AI-based call-screening solution that uses cloud telephony and machine learning to answer your calls in a natural language and provides live transcription of what the caller is saying, helping you decide whether to take over the call or mark it as spam.

The Truecaller Assistant currently supports English, Hindi, and "Hinglish" languages, and we are told there are no plans to add support for more Indian languages.

You can try Truecaller Assistant in India for free for 14 days, post which you can continue to use it by subscribing to the Truecaller Premium Assistant plan that starts from INR149 ($1.8/€1.6) per month. However, as a part of a limited-time promotional deal, you can get it for INR99 ($1.2/€1) per month.

It's also worth mentioning that Truecaller Assistant is currently only available for Android users in India, and the company has told us that iOS users in India will have to wait for some time for the call-screening service.
