Verizon Galaxy Note5 and S6 edge+ receiving latest security patches

Verizon has started rolling out a new update to Samsung Galaxy Note5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ units on its network. The update brings latest Android security patches as well as some improvements and bug fixes.

For the Galaxy Note 5 specifically, the update includes a fix for the false "No SIM card detected" pop-up notifications. It also improves audio routing for incoming video and voice calls for both devices.

"You can now answer video calls as just a voice call, and when you do, call audio is routed to the earpiece by default," the change-log says. "Video call audio will come from the speaker by default."

It's worth mentioning that LG G5 units on Verizon are also receiving an update, but it doesn't include security patches. The update brings along "enhancements for Visual Voice Mail, Airplane Mode and reporting Microsoft Exchange Active Server data usage."
