First vivo X50, X50 Pro and X50 Pro+ promo videos focus on those cameras

Peter, 01 June 2020

The vivo X50 trio is now official and the first promo videos are out. The focus is mainly on the vivo X50 Pro and its unique gimbal-like camera stabilization, this feature takes up most of the runtime of this first clip.

Note that the gimballed camera on the X50 Pro uses a 48MP Sony IMX598 sensor.

This is relevant because of the next phone, the vivo X50 Pro+, which is the first to use 50MP Samsung GN1, a sensor optimized for pixel size. There’s no gimbal here, but both Pro models pack a periscope camera as well as a 50mm portrait cam (2x zoom). Also, note the vegan leather back.

This next clip goes back to the X50 Pro and stars Jovi, vivo’s digital assistant:

And one more X50 Pro clip:

Somewhat predictably, the vanilla vivo X50 got no love in the first wave of promo videos.

The company also released a clip teasing the new features of FuntouchOS 11, the upcoming version of vivo’s software that will be based on Android 11 (vivo is still in the process of rolling out FuntouchOS 10).
